Seals and Bounty: The Protector

Chapter 1

By Ireland Lorelei Published 4 years ago 3 min read

Bryan

Bryan Shaw set at his desk at Seals and Bounty thinking about the offer he had received two days ago to be the permanent bodyguard for Senator Grants daughter Katie. She refused to move to Capital Hill with him and his wife when after the resent election that made him the new senator of Nevada. She loved her home here and even refused to accept the Secret Service detail that had been assigned to her. She really seemed to be head strong and her not wanting a detail from the government, probably meant that she was not going to take too well to him either. Did he really want to enter into that type of a headache job?

“Hey Bryan, you still pondering that Senator’s daughters' job? I mean come on man; it can’t be that bad. For one, she’s hot! Two it’s a permanent gig that will bring a lot of money and word of mouth business to the firm,” Wyatt said.

“Yes, I am still thinking about it. I mean come on she maybe eye candy, but she sounds like a pain in the ass. I am not sure I want the headache. But if you think it's such a great gig, you take it,” Bryan responded.

“Well, I can honestly say that first impressions are not always what they seem to be. Look at me and Tally! When I first met her, I thought she was some stuck-up snob that was going to be hardheaded and not listen to anything I had to say. But look how wrong I was,” Kadon added.

“Just because the two of you guys got so lucky, doesn’t mean I will be. Anyone that doesn’t want the Secret Service detail sounds like she doesn’t want to be followed around. She probably thinks a bodyguard will interfere with her party girl lifestyle. You guys have read all of the articles about her and saw all of the pictures. This chic is a handful,” Bryan said.

“Well, you never know until you talk to her. At least set up a meeting and talk with her face to face and cut her father out of the middle until you decided to take the job and he starts sending the payments,” Wyatt said as he tapped Bryan on the shoulder.

“Fine. But I am doing this meeting so the two of you will get off my back,” Bryan said in a fed-up tone.

“Off of your back for what?” Terry said as he walked into the office.

“Can we just drop it already?” Bryan asked. “It doesn’t matter at this point. I am going to go talk to her.”

Wyatt and Kadon laughed!

“Terry, Bryan is scared to take the job with Senator Grant’s daughter!” Kadon said.

“What, Bryan not wanting to take a job with a beautiful woman? Isn’t he the one always saying that we always get the good assignments because we get women, and he gets all the men assignments? Not sure how that works exactly, because I thought I got a lot of male assignments too!” Terry replied laughing.

“Okay, guys, really. That’s enough! I am going to go into my office right now and call her and set up a time to meet with her directly. But when I come back and tell you that I told you so, I am going to be the last one laughing,” Bryan said.

“We will see!” Wyatt laughed back.

“Well, I for one can’t wait to hear all about it!” Kadon said excitedly.

“Me either! I want to be in the room when we all get a good laugh at your attitude change!” Terry said.

Bryan just walked away into his office. He knew at this point that there was no way he was going to get the last word in this conversation but wait until after the meeting. He would prove them wrong.
