Dark Hearts Desire
Chapter I Him

The way she glided across the floor with elegance and grace was mesmerizing. Like fine a wine giving a gentle wave of relaxation through my body. Her long, tight, deep red dress fit her snug and provided an outline of her voluptuous figure, caressing every curve. She had the perfect, hourglass coming towards me like a predator just in reach of her prey. She brought such ease and solace to my mind and body just with her presence. She licked and bit her bottom lip. Her deep gaze into my eyes were hungry and I could feel a fire starting from my core. Her moist lips parted and teased inches from mine. I wanted to pull her into my body and kiss her hard and possessively. My heart yearned for her, I felt instantly possessive and deeply in love. I went to grab her....
I woke up with a yearning for someone, I had never met or even knew if she was real. It was just a dream but it felt so real, still lingering laying in bed, I was remembering her face and those hooded light green eyes that resembled jade. And her hair flowing softly around her face and shoulders. My heart was still pounding. Not wanting to stop thinking about her, I was groaning as I popped out of bed and got ready for the day.
Beep beep beep. The car honked behind me at the red light. I was dazed as I remembered my very detailed dream. I was still in intoxicated by my dream. Disappointed by the thought that she was just my imagination. I shook it off and proceeded through the green light. I was on my way to an art studio to meet up with my buddy. I had just came back from being abroad and hadn't seen any of my friends for two years. Joel and I had been best friends since we were in diapers and we had to do some catching up.
"Hey my brother! What's up!" Joel said, as he got into my car.
"It has been awhile my friend. I am glad to be back home." I told him as we started driving to go get some lunch.
"So are you going to tell me what you have been doing overseas or are you going to keep that a mystery forever?" Joel asked me while sitting in the front seat.
"I'm going to keep it a secret. Maybe I will tell you one day. How has the family been?" I asked in return to change the conversation. I wasn't ready to tell anyone about my last two years.
"Everyone is doing great! My little sister is just about done with college. My mom misses you! You're like her other son. She is enjoying retirement and volunteering. She is one busy woman. After retiring she got busier! Hey, let's go to Shenanigans and get a beer. It used to be that run down building on 3rd. Someone bought it and now it's a bar and grill. There is also a street fair going on and I am selling some of my art there. I want to go check my booth, I have Gabe helping me out. " Joel stated. He was always down to grabbing a beer before any event.
"Yeah, let's stop by after, I haven't seen Gabe since he got back from the military." I said.
We walked into the bar and grill. The vibe was very upbeat and sultry at the same time. The name Shenanigans was truly fitting for the environment. It was very antique looking, like an old fashion gentlemen club, all wood and leather. We sat down at a high table and ordered some beer. There was music in the background, some 90's alternative.
"So what do you plan to do now that you are back in town? I saw Mia a few days ago, she is still single!" Joel encouraged with lifted eyebrows. "Bet she would jump at the chance now that you are back!" Joel said, chuckling.
"I'm sure, but I am still not interested, just like in high school." I replied.
"I don't get it man, she is smoking hot! And only interested in you of course! You were so mean to her growing up but for some reason she still wanted only you." Joel said irritated. He has always had it for Mia since high school. I am staying away from that disaster, I thought to myself.
"Alright, enough about her. She is probably a little on the crazy side, I don't want to be a part of that." I insisted. "I need to start working before I get a girl in my life. Know of any jobs for an under-experienced architect?" I questioned.
Joel shook his head, he couldn't answer with the giant bite of the hamburger in his mouth.
"I'll be right back." I told him.
I walked over to go use the bathroom. I turned down the hallway, photos lined the dark wooden walls. In the middle of the wall was a larger old, black and white photo. It was of a woman wearing a dress with her hair framing her face and hood eyes. She was sitting in a leather chair drinking a glass of wine. It was her, the woman I dreamt about last night!
But the photo was old, and had to be in the early 1900's but no doubt it was her. My heart ached with disappointment. She was real but not in my lifetime. As I looked outside of the window, I saw her, a woman that looked just like her crossing the street. I stood there at the window looking at her, making sure I was not imagining things. She caught me staring at her and took off. I went running out of the bar to find her and explain that I was not some creep. I wanted to talk to her. There were so many people around because of the street fair that I couldn't keep up with her. I looked around and tried to find her, but I was surrounded by a large crowd of people. My inner desire was controlling me to get to her. I was scanning the crowd for her but she disappeared. My mind raced, I will find her, I must.
Now there is hope, she is here in my world and I knew I had to do anything to find her.
Stay tuned for the next chapter of Dark Heart Desire.
