Slowly making my way down the vents I paid attention to every sound that was made. Hannah's conversation kept replaying in my head. She has a mother who's still alive and is most likely close by. Thinking I could use this to my advantage and if she tries to get me sent to either The Thing from the Pit or Nurse Ratchet I'll come down on her hard. That would explain why everyone has been sucking up to her.

Hearing some voices I went down a bit further to see what looked like a break room. Two men were sitting down in a small round table having a coffee break. Slowly moving down I kept to the shadows. Getting a better look at them I noticed that one of the men was Waits and the other looked a bit familiar. "I know you man, tell me how did she react?", Waits asked the other man. He said with a smirk, "I barely caught a glance, although what I did see wasn't just anger. It was a promise of vengeance. Can't wait to break her."

Glaring daggers at both of them it took every fiber in my being not to reveal myself. "You've should've been there when we wheeled her down the hall. Her skin was unusually warm and soft to the touch", Waits commented. The other shook his head before saying, "Is there any woman here who you haven't touched? I'm surprised no one has gotten after you for that." Waits retorted, "The same reason why no one has given you any shit for shocking everyone Edgar. Those freaks aren't human and they're just here for the scientist to run tests and to keep contained."

Hearing enough of their shit I was in the process of leaving when Edgar said, "Wanna see the footage from earlier? Got Smith to scare her good." Holding still I watched as they both began to rise. Moving quickly I seeped into Waits' shadow to better follow them. Waits shook as he stood. Edgar noticed the shudder lifting a cocked eyebrow. Waits replied, "Someone must've walked over my grave." As they walked down the hall I thought Soon enough I'll be dancing on your ashes instead.

They walked down an empty hall that had just a few doors on either side without a window to any one of them. You could only gain entry if you had the right keycard. By the time they used one of theirs a word above the door caught my eye 'Surveillance'.

Walking into the room someone said over their shoulder, "You know this is a no drink or food area guys." There were about 6 people in the room including Edgar and Waits. Everyone here almost had the same look; short to buzz cut hair, clean shaven, and in a somewhat athletic form body wise. The one spoke kept his eyes on the monitors. He seemed to be a little fuller than Edgar or Waits.

"We know and we're almost done Smith", Edgar said. Taking the chance to leave Waits I got a full view of the room. Monitors covered 3 walls starting from the desks to the ceiling. The majority of what I could see where the rooms all of us were in, including mine.

My vision landed on a thing that was in no shape or form ever a human being. The body looked to be both firm and slick at the same time. It looked like a big black blob. It could only be described as a Thing.

Edgar asked, "Is that inmate zero's room?" Smith replied, "Yes, the goddamn thing has barely moved since being let out." Waits asked, "Do you think it knows who's behind that door?" Smith replied with a shrug, "I don't know how it would, although something tells me it does. That thing is usually all over the place when it's not feeding. Yet tonight it went straight for that room specifically. It banged on the door for about a minute or two, waited there, then went down the hall until it bumped into the main doors only to turn around and come right back to waiting again."

Great now I have a literal monster after me I thought. Edgar's voice broke me out of my thoughts, "Show Waits what happened after the bell rang." Smith looked up with a face that read 'Really?' then with a shrug pulled up the footage of the Yellow area. Everyone else stopped to turn and watch. Seeing a sadistic gleam in both Edgar and Waits' eyes brought my blood to boil again. I'm really going to enjoy hurting these two.

Waits' asked, "Did you...?" Edgar finished for him, "Did I ask Smith to scare the little miss hot shit by tampering with her bracelet until 10 to 5 seconds before she would've been eaten? Fuck yeah." Looking to Smith I put him on my list as well.

Getting a better look at the three men Edgar seemed to be of an ethnic background although it could be a tan while Smith and Waits seemed to be the run of the mill white boy. Feeling myself begin to shudder I left before doing something reckless.

A memory of my first kills tried to resurface as I left the room. With a shake of my head I cleared my mind. Traveling through the vents again I kept moving until the sound of a familiar voice caught my attention. "You need to get a better handle on your men Armstrong", Aunt Patty said. Looking down into what looked like an office I heard Armstrong reply, "I will deal with my men as needed just as you deal with the scientists Director." Staying in the vent I listened to them argue. "My scientist aren't the issue here Colonel. We almost lost our most valuable inmate a few hours ago", Aunt Patty stated. The Colonel took a moment before replying, "I'll have a talk with my men when I find out who it was that almost cost us our 'most valuable inmate'." Hearing the man do everything he could to seem professional although with those last 3 words there was a sliver of condensation in his tone. Keeping my cool I continued to listen. Aunt Patty replied, "You know very well who was responsible for that stunt and if you don't do something about it this time I'm going to go over your head and have those three fed to that Project Omega."

Hearing that threat I knew it wasn't idle. Seeing Armstrong's full body tense told me who wears the pants in between these two. I had to squish the tiniest bit of pride I felt seeing a woman half the size of a man tell him what to do and he had to follow her orders. Continuing to watch them I heard Aunt Patty change the subject seeing that she made her point. "My scientists have just given me the results of the test we ran with inmate zero's and Project Omega's samples. It was finally a success." Armstrong only nodded his head for her to continue. "The samples we took stabilized for once. It actually did more than that the samples morphed to create something new. Inmate zero is what we've been looking for all this time." Armstrong took a moment before responding, "What's the plan now?" Aunt Patty took a step closer to say, "First we have to see if there's anything else inmate zero can do aside from the research we have. Once we have that knowledge then we have to break her spirit."

Never going to happen I thought before moving down the vent. I passed by some labs that had a good amount of people working around the clock. Making a mental note of the location and the fact that there are more than just guards here. Going further I had to stop to see someone sleeping in a room that looked exactly like the ones in Yellow and Green. There are more of us here.

Taking a closer look at the person who was lying on the bed I had to keep from gasping. They looked like Ed. Moving into the room to take a closer look I saw that the main difference between them and Ed was that they weren't wearing a collar or bracelet. Aside from that they were the spitting image of Ed. They could be brothers if not twins.

Their eyes flashed opened as if they heard my thoughts. Hiding under the bed I kept repeat to myself There's no way that they saw you, just keep your cool, and then leave.

Hearing the creaking of the bed as they adjusted themselves on the bed I kept quiet and waited for any sign that they might've seen me just now. After a moment or two I was getting ready to leave when an unknown voice spoke inside my mind. Meet me in the bathroom.
