What’s to Become of the Boy?
A Tale of Loss and Redemption in Post-Apartheid South Africa.
As a young boy growing up in a small town, Billy had always felt like an outsider. He had never quite fit in with the other kids in his class, and often found himself spending his afternoons alone, wandering the woods that surrounded his home.
It wasn't until he started high school that Billy discovered his true passion: writing. He would spend hours every day scribbling away in a notebook, pouring his heart and soul onto the page. For the first time in his life, he felt like he had found something that truly spoke to him.
As the years went by, Billy's talent as a writer only continued to grow. He published his first book at the age of twenty, and it quickly became a bestseller. He went on to write several more books, each one more successful than the last.
But despite all of his accomplishments, Billy couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing from his life. He had always been a deeply introspective person, and the more he thought about it, the more he realized that what he really wanted was to make a difference in the world.
And so, at the age of thirty-five, Billy left behind his life as a successful author and embarked on a new journey. He enrolled in law school, with the goal of becoming a human rights lawyer.
It was a difficult road, and there were times when Billy wondered if he had made the right decision. He spent long hours studying and working at a law firm, sacrificing his writing career in pursuit of his new dream.
But through it all, Billy remained committed to his goal. He saw the law as a way to effect real change in the world, to help those who couldn't help themselves.
And finally, after years of hard work and dedication, Billy achieved his dream. He became a human rights lawyer, fighting for the rights of marginalized communities all over the world.
Looking back on his life, Billy knew that he had made the right decision. He had found a way to use his talents to make a difference in the world, to help those who needed it most.
But there was one thing that still troubled him. He knew that there were countless other people out there, just like him, who felt lost and unsure of their place in the world. And he wondered what would become of them, if they would ever find their way.
It was then that Billy had an idea. He would write a book, a book that would inspire and empower others to follow their dreams, no matter how unlikely or impossible they may seem.
And so he wrote, pouring his heart and soul onto the page once again. The book was a success, just like his previous works, but this time, the success was different. It wasn't just about selling copies or making money. It was about changing lives.
As Billy grew older, he continued to write and fight for justice. He knew that his time on this earth was limited, but he was content, knowing that he had made a difference in the world, and that his legacy would live on long after he was gone.
And he wondered, as he often did, what would become of the boy. He knew that there were other outsiders out there, just like him, searching for a way to make a difference in the world. And he hoped that his words would reach them, inspiring them to follow their dreams and make a difference in their own way.
For Billy, that was what it was all about. Making a difference. Leaving the world a better place than he found it. And he knew that as long as there were people out there who felt lost or alone, there would always be work to be done.
