Here is a nurse working at the end of the year. He is sitting at the nurse's station finishing his charting and listening for call bells if any of the patients need help with anything. He is sitting and he starts to think that is kind of nice, but quite eerie at the same time. This nurse starts to wonder why everything is so quiet, so he gets up and starts to go from room to room, and when he checks all the patient's room, he is thinking about the new year that is just about to start and if he should consider climbing the ladder in nursing.

For the longest time he has wanted to teach and do research in nursing. He continued to check the patients and just when he checked on the last patient, he heard his phone, and he picked up and talked in a whisper for the patients were sleeping. The person on the phone wanted to congratulate him in being accepted into a program that he had all but forgotten about. The nurse had to think for a moment, then it hit him and "Oh, that one." At the end of a year, you never know what will be ushered in to your life and bring change to you.
