Unzipped

Best Laid Plans...

By Conny van BalenPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

The friends stood agape staring at the bag on the kitchen table.

After what seemed like an eternity, one of them inched forward, unzipped the bag to reveal its contents and stepped back again.

Minutes went by as they remained transfixed by the sight in front of them.

“Woo Hoo!!” shouted the second friend shocking them all out of their reverie.

They laughed and began dancing around the room, hugging each other and whooping as they danced some more.

“Should we count it?” asked the third friend.

The friends sat around the table and emptied the bag. Piles were formed and reformed as they counted and divided their spoils. Once they were done, they sat back and smiled admiring their share.

“What now?” inquired the first.

A debate began as they planned their next moves, who should go where, who should leave first, how will they communicate….

Time ticked on, decisions were made, “Let’s eat before we leave,” suggested the second.

The three friends shared a meal, recalling the events that led them here with respect for each other.

Suddenly the third friend stopped…“Did you hear something outside?”

BANG went the door

“EVERYBODY FREEZE!!!”
