Chalk Two’s Sergeant Zhou slammed his gauntlet into the airlock panel and entered the access tunnel. Gunnarsson followed, keeping his scope down the darkened, sterile corridor beyond.

“Clear.”

The airlock cycled, and the station’s stale air greeted them.

“Stay sharp.”

“Copy.”

“Refill your tanks, but be prepared to switch on life-support. The station feels shaky.”

“Security terminal up ahead,” Gunnarsson said.

“Gunnarsson, Pielf, Sanders on point. Rest of you, watch our six.” Zhou said as he hacked the terminal, access chimes reverberating off the hallway.

Gunnarsson saw the shadow appear down the corridor and lined up the kill shot.

“Wait!”

Nice slowing the pace down in this episode and giving the tension a moment to reset. I like sci-fi with a bit of suspense!
