Travenience
Trapped In A Situation That You Stay In For Convenience. This is for the Vocal Neolomicro Challenge

The Prompt
Invent a word, then write a microfiction story that encapsulates its meaning.
Travenience: Noun: [traˈviːnɪəns] The situation of staying in a bad situation because it is more convenient to stay although you feel you should leave.
The music is "Town Clowns" by Blameless
A Few Examples Of Travenience
I decided that I would wander my town to track down examples of travenience, there are many examples and I myself have one glaring example of this.
My (And Many Other's Travenience)
I pay for almost everything by card. I know that means that financial institutions can track what I spend my money on, where I spend it when I spend it and so can target me with advertising and even stop me from spending on certain items if they decided I should be spending.
If I made the effort and took cash out of an ATM they would not know where I was spending or what I was buying. Also, the retailers would not be charged when I used their card machines, but the travenience got me.
The Bad Job
The guy who has a good job with a decent income, but is bullied and treated badly by management, which makes him very depressed every day he has to go into the office. He could get another job, with an equivalent wage, but he doesn't know if the management would be better or worse. He can't walk out because he needs to maintain a roof over his head and eat. He has travenience.
The Run Down Neighbourhood
The person who has lived all their life in a neighbourhood that gets worse week on week, but cannot work up steam to get their belongings packaged up to move to somewhere better, even though they have the money and means to do it. They are stuck in travenience

Excellent newly minted word, Mike.
Nicely done, Mike.
I know a few people in the job situation. I feel for them. A great new word Mike, one we can all relate to!
Oooo, I love this word so much! I think many of us would be able to relate to it! Unfortunately, I was in the same situation as your second story 'The Bad Job' before.
Wow, Mike! You invented a word I actually needed. This is all too real. I’m sure everyone has experienced it at some point. But the thing is, like a bad neighborhood, circumstances you’re not meant to be in will never improve. They’ll get worse and worse until you have the courage to make a change. The trap of convenience is not so convenient after a while, just a trap that becomes harder to get out of. Very nicely done.
Great word, Mike. Some people are stuck in travenient marriages.
Wonderful word
