A teacher outsmarts a lawyer with a smile
A lawyer sold a well to a teacher. Two days later, the lawyer approached the teacher and remarked, "Sir, while I sold you the well, the contract does not cover the water! If you wish to access the water, you will need to pay an additional fee."
The teacher smiled and responded, "Indeed, I was planning to speak with you. I was going to inform you that you need to remove your water from my well, or you will need to start paying a water rent starting tomorrow."
Upon hearing this, the lawyer became irritated and exclaimed, "Oh, I was just joking!"
The teacher smiled again and replied, "This is how individuals like you become lawyers after learning from us."
