In a world of unpredictability, the weather tops the list. Humans type “weather” into search bars hoping for a “sunny with clear skies” result.
A retired meteorologist watching the clouds anticipates rain. She looks at her iPad, opens the weather application: Expect rain at 3 pm. She smiles and looks at the clouds again.
She goes back to the kitchen and makes a cup of tea. She sits outside, on the floor, sipping her tea.
She’s comforted by the harmony between nature and algorithm, proud of her own forecast and the daily ritual connecting humanity and the ever-changing unpredictable weather.

Omgggg, watching the rain while drinking hot tea is one of the most wonderful things in life. Loved your story!
The weather is always something to talk about because it is ever present and always affects us
What a great drabble, Susan. To me, the woman looks like she's sitting in a treehouse <3
I swear I thought it's my grandma on this photo! Looks so much like her. Even the story could be her, except that she's a hobby ornithologist and predicts changes in the weather depending on how the birds behave.
