“Sorry, I didn’t realise you were wearing those shoes,” he said as they were walking.

Her feet were killing her. It’d been ages since going on a real date, so she dressed up and put on her favourite heels; four-inch heels, what was she thinking!

She didn’t want to say anything just because they ended up walking instead of driving. She saw he was trying; he even apologised.

Leaving the theatre, the rain was pouring. Looking at her shoes, then each other, he smiled and gestured to give her a piggyback. Smiling, she knew he still loved her.
