Stanley Troutman followed the boy into the jungle.

It had taken him longer than expected to win the villagers' trust. Sure they were happy to see him. The Americans were fighting the Japanese, after all. But it was only now that they agreed to take him to Captain Fernandez.

Stanley was curious. What kind of man earned the nickname "Silent Killer?"

Suddenly, the boy stopped. Men armed with bolos emerged from the jungle.

"I'm here to speak with Captain Fernandez," Stanley said.

The men parted.

A prim, bespeckled woman stepped forward.

"Then speak."

I heard personal stories how the Japanese would take Pilipino men in a church and kill them , my grandmother used to play the piano for them so they won’t kill them .
