“Quinn, here don’t let him get them. RUN!” was the last thing Aleksei said before I ran. 110 years ago was the end of the world, no one's really sure what caused it but all anyone knows or what they are willing to tell us, is it wiped out all the plants, there are no trees, flowers or anything that once made the world beautiful. In the year 2,035 is when everyone that lives now was forced to leave their lives behind and forced into bunkers all over what used to be America, Europe, and Africa. In total the number of people who survived was 1150 that were all over the world. After the end everyone was lost, they had no idea what to do they looked for someone to tell them what to do next. Nobody could decide who was to be in charge, only 4 people stood up but they couldn't decide who to choose. So instead they decided to leave and make their own clans.

The north blackthorn, the east haven, the west Moonhallow, and the south avian. Each clan had about 300/400 people each depending on who they followed. Each of the leaders each had a small key they took with them and they made a pact to come together in a couple years to thrive, but that never happened. The year is now 2145 and the population of the survivors grew like 50 people. All the teenagers 16+ had this little hangout that was conveniently in the center of all the clans, it was an underground lake. There was only one rule if you were to come to this hangout spot, you cannot tell the other kids what clan you were from, you can tell them your name or a nickname but the one rule is clans aren’t supposed to be talked about. One day a little handful of kids planned to hangout at the lake. Quinn, she is 17 years old, she is 5’4, long black hair beautiful caramel colored skin, the most intriguing dark green eyes. Erin, she is 18 years old, 5’6, short curly blonde hair to her shoulders, a soft creme colored skin, the darkest of blue eyes. Laurence, 18 years old 5’11, curly dark brown hair, chestnut colored skin, dark brown eyes. Aleksei, 17 years old 6’1, dark black hair, dark grey eyes.

One of the days they planned on hanging out at the lake while they were swimming Quinn swam to the bottom of the lake and found some shiny heart necklace, she could hear something inside but there was no way to open it, the rest of the day they looked for little keys around and inside the lake to open the locket, when they couldn't find them it was dark they needed to get back home, “ we will find those keys to open it trust me.'' Laurence said while grabbing Quinn's shoulder. “Alright guys goodnight be careful see you.” Erin said, walking away into the darkness while waving at the other three. Aleksei waved bye at the last two and walked away in a different direction. “Quinn just in case fine a way to leave it here but hide it.'' Laurence told the girl before waving and walking away. “Alright bye Laurence.” she responded watching him be engulfed by the shadows she could still see because people put up lanterns to the underground lake illuminated. She saw a crack in the wall and decided to put the heart locket there. It was a small crack in the rock wall so you couldn't see it unless you looked really hard for it. She said “perfect” while putting it down behind the rock. She started walking in the direction of her clan, north blackthorn, she breathed out “ home sweet home” while seeing it come into vision. She walked to a gate and slipped through the broken panels. The broken gate was easy out of the way from people seeing and it was in a dark corner, she pulled up her jacket and tied it around her waist making her way home. “Father i'm back” she said walking into the front door of her house, her father came into view “my sweets how was your day “ he said hugging her side and kissing the top of her head. “It was good” she said walking into the kitchen getting water “that's good sweet listen i have a meeting tonight i'm glad you got home before i had to leave “ her father said standing in front of her, “okay” she responded “do you know how long you will be gone” “you will probably be sleeping when i come back tonight, but don't forget i have that clan meeting with all the clans tomorrow so i won't be home” he looked at her and smiled. “Alright well i'm heading up” she said walking to the hallway, she pulled the string for the attic she watched the same old ladder come out of the space and climbed up, she got to the top and pulled the ladder back up she looked around her room and saw her journal on the floor that was out of sight only she could see, she grabbed it and started writing about what she found today and drew a little sketch of the locket.

The night passed quickly the sun was shining into the window on Erin’s house shining on her face waking her up. “Erin wake up” her little sister jumped on her, “what time is it” she looked over at her clock that was drawn on the wall using the sunlight to determine what time it was, it showed mid-noon. She got up and changed her clothes into some shorts and a baggy t-shirt making her way out of her room behind her sister. “Good morning mom,” she said, grabbing a plate and grabbing some food that was on the burner. “It's afternoon Erin, you've been sleeping through the morning” her mother rolled her eyes and snapped at her while writing a letter. “My apologies, mother i forgot that i don't wake up earlier than the sun” she mumbled starting to eat “what was that” her mother stopped and looked at her “nothing mom” “that's what i thought i have to be with the council all day so i need you to watch Cassandra-” “but mom i had plans with my friends today” she cut her mom off, “Erin, I don't care it's not important anyway this is more important than your little friends and I wasn't asking,” her mom raised her voice at her. “Of course '' Erin responded putting her gaze on her plate. Her mom walked past her and patted her head “good” and left the house, Erin looked at her little sister next to her and all her sister did was smile at her. Erin sighed thinking she can't meet up with her friends to help with the locket that they found last night.

Aleksei was in the kitchen talking to his older brother Liam “so Alek do you have anything planned today” his brother said looking at him, “yeah i'm going to help my friends look for something today why?” he asked “no reason i will be busy today i didn't want you to be alone” his brother answered. “Oh okay” Alek answered. “You know it's busy all day for all of the clan leaders. We all have to show up to this meeting today and it could take hours, or even run all day. So I may or may not be home when you get back from your little adventure.” Liam told him, “I think I will still be here before you leave so I will see you off.” Alek says in between drinking water.
