The Running
Justice Through Karmic Retribution

They were just another happy couple sitting out on a Veranda in Spain. Susie and Mark were on their delayed honeymoon, after an impromptu wedding. Susie had never heard the term shot-gun wedding. The morning of the nuptials her older brother explained to her that a shot-gun wedding was when the father of the (pregnant) bride to be, held the groom at gun point. Susie didn't think it was very funny given the circumstances. On top of that if anyone was being held at gun point it was herself, with her mother holding the gun. It was right after the wedding that the world went on lock-down and then changed forever. The world wide time out and subsequent reset was the cause of the delay in travel plans.
Surprisingly the trip had been very enjoyable thus far so she didn't understand why Mark insisted on attending this spectacle of ideocracy. Mark was looking down the street excitedly looking for the heard of people about to come running. "You know people really get hurt, even murdered, doing this...thing", Susie mumbled, to herself apparently. Mark was paying no attention to her and she could hear the roar of the people and bulls approaching. "This is just horrible it's like torture to those innocent creatures. " Susie yelled it this time to be heard of the chaos. Mark replied, "The are not so innocent, you know, not by a long shot." Then the crowd had rounded the corner and she was in horror to see that many of the people being chased were already bleeding. The people were trying their hardest to get away from the bulls forcing them participate in this weird world of reverse Karma.
Mark looked back at her, unapologetically, and said "Don't be such a cow Susie; you know they deserve it." She had to stop and think about that, they did deserve it but does two wrongs or even ten wrongs make a right? She tried to use her logical brain now and continued the pointless debate. "But the people only have two legs not four and they are so much smaller than those big bulls out there." She swished her tail back and forth, afraid that she was going to push Mark too far and turn him into a raging bull again. However, he was able to calm his temper and said coldly, "Oh yeah, boo-hoo for the humans; it's not like they have tortured our kind for centuries. Not just murdering us in the streets of Spain, but making us into steaks and handbags. Susie couldn't take anymore, "I'm going back to the hotel and then catching the first boat back home tomorrow."
He then jumped into the street to join in the Karmic Retribution. "Ok, whatever you want to do, but don't you want to come to the BBQ after this. Steaks and burgers for everyone! She then started running the opposite direction of the crowd with tears in her eyes. She couldn't believe that the bull who was once so gentle and kind, could now be so full of wrath. Maybe she didn't know him at all. She was still trying to get used to the new world around her but a part of her longed for her previously simple life. She could just walk around slowly grazing on the grass all day if she wanted. It was nice, at first, being able to speak and to have logical thoughts. Now, however, it was just getting to be too many responsibilities. The stress and anxiety of a life filled with forced marriages and other human created bullshit was just too much to process. She wanted to be just put out to pasture. Free to live as she wanted instead of forced to survive in this mess the humans made.
