Surekha, the famous classical singer, loved the rain. She found something magical about the way it fell from the sky, cleansing the world below. As she drove down the deserted streets on a rainy night, she noticed three children dancing in the rain, their laughter ringing out into the stormy night. Surekha stopped her car and walked up to the children. Without hesitation, she joined in their playful dance, her feet splashing in the puddles.
Surekha's love for the rain stemmed from her childhood when she and her sibling. would dance and sing in the monsoon showers. The rain always filled her with joy and nostalgia, and she felt a connection to it that was hard to explain.
As Surekha danced in the rain with the children, she couldn't help but be reminded of the many times she had danced in the rain with Sridhar, her estranged lover. They had always shared a love for the rain, and whenever it rained, they would find a spot to dance together, lost in their own world.
She remembered one particular evening when they were walking in the rain, Sridhar had taken her hand and led her to a small park. They had danced under a tree, with the rain falling softly around them, creating a soothing rhythm. They had been soaked to the bone, but they had not cared, lost in their own world of music and movement. she smiled at the memory.
Surekha knew that she and Sridhar had grown apart over time, but the memories of their happy moments still lingered. She wondered if Sridhar still enjoyed the rain as much as she did and if he ever thought about their past moments together.
The next day, Surekha was in her music studio, working with her students on classical singing. She sat with her Sitar, and the students sat around her, ready to begin their training. As they started singing, Surekha listened intently, taking note of the nuances in their singing.
After they finished the song, Surekha gave her feedback, pointing out the areas that needed improvement. "Good job everyone! That was a great start. Let's try it again, but this time, focus on your diction and try to bring out the emotions of the song."
As they started to sing again, Surekha began to guide them, using her own experiences to help them improve. She sang along with them, demonstrating how to bring out the emotions of the song and how to control their breath.
"Remember, singing is not just about hitting the right notes. It's about expressing the emotions behind the words. Let the music flow through you, and you will touch the hearts of your listeners."
The students nodded in agreement and started to sing again, this time with renewed focus and passion. Surekha smiled, pleased with their progress. She knew that the key to being a good teacher was to inspire her students and bring out the best in them.
"Great job, everyone! You are all making excellent progress. Keep practicing, and you will become great singers someday," Surekha said, encouraging her students.
As the lesson was ending, there was a knock on the door. Surekha went to answer it, and there stood a young teenage girl, looking nervous and shy.
"Hello, how can I help you?" Surekha asked with a smile.
"Hi, my name is Koel. I've heard a lot about you, and I want to learn classical singing from you. Can I be your student?" Koel asked, her voice trembling with anticipation.
"Of course, I'd be happy to teach you. Why don't you come in and we'll have a chat?" Surekha replied, gesturing for Koel to come in.
As they sat down, Surekha asked Koel about her background and her interest in music. Koel told her that she had always been interested in music and had started singing at a young age, but she had never received any formal training.
"Well, that's great. I'm glad to see that you have a passion for music. I'm sure I can help you hone your skills," Surekha said, with an encouraging smile.
Koel looked relieved and excited at the same time. She knew that she had come to the right place.
During the session, Surekha introduced Koel to the basics of classical singing. She taught her about the different vocal exercises, the importance of breathing, and how to control her voice. Koel listened intently and tried to absorb as much as she could.
After the session was over, Koel thanked Surekha for her time and said that she was looking forward to learning more from her.
"It was great meeting you, Koel. You have a lot of potentials, and I'm sure we can bring out the best in you. Keep practicing, and you'll become a great singer," Surekha said, patting Koel on the back.
As the days passed, Koel began to attend Surekha's music classes regularly. Surekha noticed Koel's hard work and dedication to classical singing. Koel was always the first to arrive and the last to leave, practicing diligently and absorbing every piece of advice that Surekha had to offer.

Surekha was impressed with Koel's enthusiasm and the progress she was making. She could see that Koel had a natural talent for singing, but she needed guidance and training to hone her skills.
"Koel, you're doing great! I can see how much effort you're putting in, and it's paying off. Your voice has improved so much in such a short time," Surekha said, praising her.
Koel blushed and smiled shyly. She was grateful for Surekha's encouragement and guidance. As they continued with their lessons, Surekha identified the areas where Koel needed more help. She would work on Koel's pronunciation and vocal range, encouraging her to experiment with different techniques and styles. She would also give Koel feedback on her performance, pointing out the areas that needed improvement and guiding her on how to fix them.
Koel was always eager to learn and apply the advice given by Surekha. Her passion for classical singing grew, and she soon became Surekha's favorite student.
"Koel, I'm so proud of you. You're not only working hard but you're also improving day by day. Keep up the good work," Surekha said, with a beaming smile.
Koyal felt her heart fill with joy and gratitude. She knew that with Surekha's guidance, she would become a great singer one day.
As the rain poured down outside, Surekha sat in her living room, sipping a hot cup of tea and admiring the beauty of nature. She was lost in her thoughts when Koel interrupted her.
"Surekha ji, how much do you love the rain?" Koel asked, with a curious look on her face.
Surekha smiled and looked at Koel. "Oh, I love the rain very much. It's one of my favorite things in the world," she said, with a gentle chuckle.
Koel's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? I didn't know that. I thought you only loved music," she said, with a smile.
"Well, music is my first love, but the rain is something that brings me joy and happiness. It reminds me of the good times I had with someone very special to me," Surekha said, her voice trailing off.
Koel noticed the sadness in Surekha's voice and reached out to hold her hand. "What happened, Surekha ji? Is everything okay?" she asked, with concern.
Surekha smiled at Koel's kindness and took her hand. "It's nothing to worry about, Koel. I was just thinking about someone I used to know. We shared a love for the rain, and every time it rained, we would dance and sing together," Surekha said, with a wistful smile.
Koel looked at Surekha with empathy and understanding. "I'm sorry to hear that, Surekha ji. But I'm glad that you have happy memories of the rain. Why don't we go outside and enjoy the rain together? Maybe it will help you feel better," Koel suggested, with a warm smile.
Surekha's eyes lit up, and she felt a sense of joy at Koel's suggestion. She stood up, took Koel's hand, and walked outside. The raindrops fell on their faces, and they both laughed and danced together, lost in the moment.
There is a classical music event happening in the city soon.
The day of the event had finally arrived, and Surekha felt both nervous and excited for her student, Koel. The auditorium was filled with people from all walks of life, eagerly waiting for the performances to begin. As the curtains rose and the lights dimmed, Koel took to the stage.
Surekha watched from backstage, feeling proud and emotional as Koel began to sing. Her voice filled the auditorium with its mellifluous notes, and the audience was entranced by her performance.
As Koel sang, Surekha could feel her heart swell with pride. She watched as Koel effortlessly navigated the complex rhythms and melodies of classical music, displaying the same passion and dedication to the art that Surekha had always strived to embody.
As Koel's performance came to an end, the audience rose to their feet, applauding her with an intensity that filled the room. Koel took her final bow, her eyes shining with joy and pride.
Surekha rushed to the stage to embrace Koel, her eyes brimming with tears. "Koel, you were amazing! Your voice was like music to my ears, and your dedication and hard work truly paid off. I couldn't be prouder of you," she said, hugging Koel tightly.
Koel beamed with happiness and gratitude, thanking Surekha for all of her support and guidance. As they left the auditorium, the sound of the applause still ringing in their ears, Surekha felt a sense of contentment. As Koel and Surekha were leaving the auditorium.
Koel rushed and hugged the man, who was coming towards her. As Koyal hugged the man, Surekha was taken aback, her heart racing with surprise and confusion. She couldn't believe her eyes. It was Shridhar, her estranged lover, who she had not seen or spoken to in so many years.
She watched in shock as Koel introduced them, and Shridhar greeted her with a warm smile. "Surekha, it's so good to see you after all these years. Koel has told me so much about you, and your incredible talent as a teacher and mentor."
Surekha felt a flurry of emotions - a mix of nostalgia, regret, and longing. She had always wondered what had happened to Shridhar and had often imagined what it would be like to see him again. But now that he was standing in front of her, she didn't know what to say.
"Shridhar, it's good to see you too," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "It's been a long time."
Surekha felt like the wind had been knocked out of her when Shridhar revealed that Koel was her daughter. She felt a mixture of shock, disbelief, and a sense of overwhelming emotion that she couldn't quite put into words. For a moment, she just stood there, staring at Shridhar in disbelief.
Surekha’s trip down memory lane
Surekha's life had always been simple, yet filled with passion and purpose. Growing up in the village with her father Devdhar and younger brother Sumanth, she had always felt a deep connection with music. She would spend hours listening to classical songs on the radio and dreaming of becoming a famous singer someday.
Her father was a well-respected landlord in the village, and he had always encouraged Surekha to pursue her dreams. He had even arranged for her to take singing lessons from a local guru, who had recognized her immense talent and encouraged her to pursue classical music seriously.
Despite facing some resistance from other members of the family, Surekha had gone on to complete her graduation and even won several competitions and accolades for her singing. But her passion for music was not just about fame and recognition - it was a way for her to connect with the divine, express her innermost thoughts and feelings, and uplift and inspire others through her art.
Shridhar had first seen Surekha when she had come to his father Jai dev's music class. As soon as she had walked in, he had felt his heart skip a beat. She had been dressed in a simple cotton saree, with her hair tied back in a bun. But even in that unassuming attire, she had radiated a grace and beauty that had left Shridhar spellbound.
As Jaidev introduced Surekha to the class, Shridhar had been struck by the pure, melodious quality of her voice. It was like nothing he had ever heard before, and he had found himself captivated by it.
As the class progressed, Shridhar found himself sneaking glances at Surekha whenever he could. He had watched as she closed her eyes and lost herself in the music, her voice soaring and dipping in perfect harmony. And with every passing moment, he had fallen more and more deeply in love with her.
Shridhar couldn't resist the pull he felt towards Surekha, and soon he found himself talking to her after class, asking her about her interests and her life outside of music. He had found her to be just as lovely and kind as he had imagined, and he had felt himself falling deeper in love with her with every passing day.
Despite his feelings, Shridhar had been too shy to confess his love to Surekha outright. So, he started by asking her if they could be friends. To his relief, Surekha had agreed, and they had started to spend more time together, talking and laughing over cups of tea.
As they had gotten to know each other better, Shridhar discovered that Surekha was not only beautiful and talented but also intelligent, independent, and strong-willed. He had felt deeply drawn to her, and he had wanted nothing more than to make her his own.
But for the moment, he was content to simply enjoy her company and cherish the memories they were creating together.
As Surekha and Shridhar's friendship grew, they discovered that they both shared a passion for helping others. Shridhar was a school teacher, and he often volunteered his time to help provide midday meals to students who came from underprivileged backgrounds.
Surekha was deeply impressed by Shridhar's commitment to his students, and she decided to join him in his cause. Together, they worked tirelessly to gather donations and organize the logistics of providing healthy, nutritious meals to as many students as possible.
As they worked together, Surekha and Shridhar grew closer and closer. They shared their dreams and their fears, and they talked about everything from their families to their favorite foods. They discovered that they had much in common, and they grew to respect and admire each other more and more.
Through their charity work, Surekha and Shridhar became beloved figures in their community. People looked up to them as examples of what it meant to be truly compassionate and selfless, and their work inspired others to get involved and make a difference in their own ways.
As they danced and sang in the rain, Shridhar couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion. He knew that he had fallen deeply in love with Surekha and wanted to confess his feelings to her. He mustered up the courage and, in the midst of the downpour, he whispered to her that he loved her.
Surekha was taken aback but she had also grown fond of Shridhar over the days they had spent together. She smiled and hugged him tightly, knowing that she felt the same way about him. The two of them continued to dance in the rain, lost in their own world of love and joy. They knew that this moment would be forever etched in their memories as the moment they confessed their love for each other in the pouring rain.
Shridhar went straight to Surekha's home the next day to propose marriage to her. However, he was met with furious Devdhar and Sumanth who were against the idea of Shridhar marrying Surekha.
"What is this nonsense? How dare you come here with this proposal?" Devdhar thundered.
Sumanth added, "You are just a schoolteacher. How can you even think of marrying a girl from a landlord family?"
Shridhar remained calm and explained, "I know that I am not from a wealthy family, but I love Surekha with all my heart. I will take care of her and give her all the happiness in the world."
But Devdhar and Sumanth refused to listen and asked Shridhar to leave their house immediately.
Shridhar left the house, dejected, but he was determined to convince them that his love for Surekha was true and strong.
Shridhar was heartbroken and confused after being rejected by Surekha's family. He went to his father, Jaidev, seeking advice on how to proceed.
"Father, I am deeply in love with Surekha. I cannot imagine a life without her. But her family has rejected my marriage proposal. What should I do?" asked Shridhar.
Jaidev looked at his son with a stern expression and said, "Shridhar, you know the consequences of going against society. We will be thrown out of the village, and our reputation will be ruined. It is better to forget Surekha and move on."
Shridhar was taken aback by his father's words. "But father, I cannot forget Surekha. She is the love of my life," he said, pleadingly.
Shridhar was not going to give up on his love for Surekha, despite his father's warnings. Jaidev was very worried for his son's safety, and he knew that if they went ahead with the marriage, they would face the wrath of Surekha's father, who was a powerful landlord in the village. He warned Shridhar that they would be banished from the village, and their lives would be ruined.
"Shridhar, you must forget Surekha," Jaidev said. "Her father will never accept you, and you will be in danger if you persist with this. You know how powerful he is."
Shridhar was determined to marry Surekha, and he was not going to listen to his father's warnings. He said, "Father, I know it will be difficult, but I love Surekha, and I want to marry her. I cannot live without her."
Jaidev was worried about his son's safety, but he also knew that he could not stop him from following his heart. He said, "If you are determined to marry her, then you must be prepared to face the consequences. But remember, it will not be easy, and you will face many obstacles."
Shridhar knew that it would be a difficult path, but he was ready to face any obstacle that came his way. He was confident that his love for Surekha would conquer all, and he was willing to risk everything for her.
Shridhar went to Surekha's house with determination in his heart. But as soon as he entered, he was thrown out by his father and his goons. They did not want Shridhar to even think about marrying Surekha.
The situation was made worse when Sumanth, in an angry tone, told Shridhar that he should forget Surekha forever. He said that Surekha had left the village and moved to the city.
Shridhar was heartbroken to hear this news, but he refused to give up on his love. He knew that he had to find Surekha and convince her to marry him, no matter what it took.
Coming back to the present day
Koel: "Surekha aunty, please come to our house. I have something special to show you."
Surekha: "Okay, Koel. I will come. But what is it that you want to show me?"
Koel: "It's a surprise, aunty. You have to come and see for yourself."
Surekha, accompanied by Koel, reaches their house. Upon reaching, she sees Shridhar standing there. She is taken aback and surprised to see him after so many years. Shridhar is also surprised to see her and is happy to see her again.
Surekha: "Shridhar, it's been so long. How have you been?"
Shridhar: "I have been fine, Surekha. And you? How have you been?"
Surekha: "I have been good too. I didn't expect to see you here. And Koel, you are amazing. I heard you sing last night. Your voice is so beautiful."
Koyal: "Thank you, aunty. It's all because of my dad. he has always supported me."
Shridhar: "Yes, I am very proud of her. She is my little princess."
Surekha: "I am happy to see that you both are together and happy."
Shridhar: "Yes, we are happy. I have been blessed with a beautiful daughter."
Surekha: "Yes, Koel is truly beautiful, just like you."
Surekha and Shridhar were left alone, and they began to catch up after all these years.
"I never forgot you, Surekha," Shridhar said, his voice heavy with emotion. "Even though your father and brother wanted me to forget you, I couldn't. You were always in my thoughts, and I searched for you everywhere. When I heard that you had left the village for the city, I followed you there, but I couldn't find you. I felt like I had lost you forever."
Surekha was moved by Shridhar's words. She had always wondered what had happened to him after their last meeting, and now she knew. She felt a mixture of sadness and happiness at the same time, knowing that he had never forgotten her.
Surekha reveals to Shridhar that her father and brother had sent her away to her aunt's house in the city, in an attempt to make her forget about Shridhar and move on. She explains that it was a very difficult time for her, and she felt sad and lonely without Shridhar.
Surekha tells Shridhar how she used to cry herself to sleep every night, thinking about him and their love. She explains that even though she was in the city, she could not forget him and that her love for him only grew stronger.
Shridhar listens intently to Surekha, feeling sad for her and for what she had to go through. He realizes that their love was true and that he wants to be with her no matter what.
Shridhar was shocked to hear about Surekha's forced marriage and subsequent divorce. He couldn't believe that she had to go through so much pain just because her father and brother didn't approve of their love. Surekha went on to tell him that after the divorce, she decided to pursue her passion for classical singing and started performing at various concerts and shows. Eventually, she became famous and her music was loved by people all over the country.
Shridhar was amazed by Surekha's strength and resilience. He had always known her as a talented and passionate person, but he had no idea that she had faced such difficult challenges in her life.
Shridhar tells Surekha that after he was beaten up by his father's goons and failed to find her in the City, he decided to move on with his life. He moved to a new city and started teaching in a school. He worked hard to build his career and eventually became a respected and successful teacher.
Shridhar tells Surekha that he went to London to pursue his Ph.D., and it was there that he met Anjali. They fell in love, got married, and settled down in London. Shridhar also tells her that he has a successful career as a professor and researcher.
Surekha is happy to hear about Shridhar's achievements but is saddened by the fact that they could not be together.
Shridhar explains to Surekha that he became a single father when his wife Anjali passed away while giving birth to their daughter, Koel. He raised Koel. on his own and made sure she had everything she needed. He struggled at first but eventually found a good job and was able to provide a good life for his daughter.
Shridhar shared with Surekha that Koel had developed a passion for classical singing and that he had sent her to train under Surekha. He felt that Surekha was the best person to guide Koyel in her musical journey. Shridhar was proud of Koel and the way she was learning under Surekha's guidance. He felt that Koel had inherited his love for music and was happy that she was following in his footsteps.
Surekha was happy to hear this and praised Koel's singing talent. She also appreciated Shridhar's decision to send Koel to her for training. She felt honored to be a part of Koel's musical journey and promised to do her best in guiding Koel toward becoming a successful classical singer.
As the rain poured down, Surekha and Shridhar laughed and sang, twirling each other around in pure joy. Koel watched them with a smile on her face, her phone out to capture the moment. It was a beautiful scene of pure happiness and love.
As they continued to dance and sing in the rain, a sense of serenity and contentment filled the air. For a moment, all the troubles and worries of the past seemed to disappear, leaving only the beauty of the present.
