By Jessica BathPublished 4 years ago 6 min read

Jacob and the Enchanted Pendulum

Up up above so very high

Is where the angels gather to watch us through the wispy skies

Always there for us helping and guiding

They are always watching over us although they may be hiding

A young boy is sobbing at the side of his sisters’ bed

He weeps and prayers for his sister is ill and might soon be dead

“Go out and fetch some fire-wood” his father yells

Off he goes into the woods in the hopes to keep his sister warm and well

Jacob gathers as much wood as he can carry

He stops and treats himself to some delicious blueberries

Sitting in the woods he notices a glistening light

The pendulum has found its next worthy owner shining so bright

Jacob eagerly rushes over to gaze into the wonderous crystal

Filled with excitement and glee at the views so mystical

He wishes his sister Louise was well again and health restored

His younger sister he so beloves and adorers

He sees a glowing pathway revealing a trail

to follow to find a magical heeling remedy

He must keep the pendulum safe from the demons

who are the nasty enemies

He is keen to venture on through the wildering woods

to follow the illuminating trail

So save his sister Louise he fears he must not fail

Off he runs back home quickly carrying the firewood

He whispers in Louise’s ear “please hold a bit longer on

I have a solution that’s good”

=

He waits for everyone to go to bed

So he can sneak out with a sleepy head

He rides his horse for the long journey ahead

Following the illuminating pathway to pick the

magical flowers to help cure his sister

Galloping as fast as they can now, and even swifter

Through the darkness a lit cottage is fast approaching

In the gardens he sees the magic flowers all floating

Jacob begins to pick some and keep safe in his bag

Suddenly a witch opens the cottage door looking like an old hag

“Who goes there trying to steal from me”

“My name is Jacob and I need these magic flowers

to help my sister live you see”

“You can only have this cure if you agree to me to sell me your soul”

“Jacob agrees feeling his body turn hollow instead of hole”

“You’re mine for the taking come back to me tomorrow and be my slave”

Jacob worryingly agrees and wishes he could be saved

He ventures on home with his magical flowers to save his sister so in need

He misses his soul and wants it back and to be freed

On Jacob way home though the wildering woods

his horses start acting scared and slowing

They each hear the squawks circling up above and crowing

The demons are near and wanting the divine pendulum

Jacob b has an idea to buy back and trade his freedom

He catches a demon and uses the horses saddle to tie

The demon is stuck and now cannot fly

He rushes back to the witch’s cottage

Feeling the witch will trade his soul for the demon would be an advantage

He knocks on the door and pleads with the witch some more

She is pleased at the thought in having a demon’s soul so evil to own

Jacob is so happy having his soul back he heads on home

Racing back to his sister in dire need

They make good haste riding in God’s speed

He feeds Louise the magical flowers with healing powers so divine

There she stands transformed and looking sublime

Louise is beautiful and healthy again once more

Jacob gives his sister a big hug and he so longed for and adores

“Wake up Father come and see”, Louise is well again and full of glee”

He can’t believe his eyes at the fast recovery

He wraps his arms around both of them so eagerly and lovingly

All of them filled with happiness and laughter

They each lived happily ever after
