The Pendulum Quests
Angelica and the Enchanted Pendulum

Angelica and the Enchanted Pendulum
Up up above so very high,
Is where the angels gather to watch over us through the wispy skies
Always there for us forever helping and guiding
They are always watching us although they may be hiding
An angel catches a glimpse of a young girl through the heavens
Suddenly she accidently drops her magical pendulum
Falling falling hard and fast
The angel watches where it will land at last
She needs her pendulum for magic and truth
Oh no, she sees it bouncing from the roof
The demons feel its presence near
Hoping it won’t land in their hand she fears
Instead, a girl who is busy making daisy chains
It lands beside her now, lit and glowing with flames
Angelica gasps at what a wonder she has found
She has been chosen by the pendulum, a bond that is now forged and bound
The brightness of lights ignites through the magical crystal
Angelica is lost in a gaze staring into its wonders so mystical
The pendulum can show you anything your heart desires
Only the purest of souls can use it, that’s all that’s required
“Hurry up Angelica” her brother Jack yells
Hiding it in her pocket, the light dims its magical spell
“We need to sell the horse for mum, there’s no money to eat!”
“How long is the walk my shoes are broken and hurting my feet”?
“With me. I’ll let you ride”
Off they gallop far and wide
Into the village town and off to market
Seeing the stools wears and shiny garnets
Sweets and treats and children’s toys
The things dreams are made of for girls and boys
Angelica and Jack stood tempted at the markets delights
All the things their hearts desire in each of their sights
“We can’t afford that we can’t afford anything we are poor”
Jack cries out as his heart longs for more
“Shh Jack lets concentrate on what we came here for”
Lets sell the horse so we can all eat some more
Saddened at the thought of letting their beloved horse Bella go for sale
Haggling with a horrid man for the price they both tried but failed
A pitiful price they each fetched for the horse
Mum and dad will be furious they expect of course
The long walk back through the wildering woods so long
Angelica remembers what’s in her pocket glowing so bright and strong
She is lagging behind because her poor feet hurt
Hungry and tired and soles covered in dirt
She looks into the curious wonder once more
In the hope to find a solution or cure
She wishes to find a pot of gold of course
And somehow get back their beloved horse
The pendulum ignites revealing where to find such treasures
Her heart quickens at the sight of such beautiful pleasures
An invisible trail reveals itself through the woods that only Angelica can see
At the other end of the rainbow, a pot of gold there will be
Suddenly a demon flies down in the attempts to steal the divine pendulum
Angelica grips tightly as she fears this is only the beginning
Jack warns the beast away with his stick and shouts
“What was that all about - are you ok he doubts”
Still keeping it a secret Angelica replies
“gosh in am fine” keeping her eyes on the prize
Nearly home but the magical secret path is glowing and illuminating
She wants to go and find the gold now without any waiting
But Angelica needs to avoid getting in trouble with her mother
Handing her the money she yells “is this all you got?
We will have to sell your brother”
“Oh no, please don’t there must be another way”
“We need money to eat and for him they will pay”
“I beg of you please trust in me and wait one more day”
“Ok one more day but at sunset he is out of here so long farewell”
“Jack will be fine working there no need to dwell”
Jack cries out at the awful through of being sold
Little does he know Angelica has a plan with her pendulum she told
“Fear not Jack and rest your head,
I have a plan please trust me and go to bed”
Tucked up tight in bed she waits for everyone to fall asleep
So she wont wake them as she leaves whilst they are in dreams so deep
Off she quietly goes using her glowing pendulum as a light leading the way
The illuminating path is still as clear as day
As the dark night descends
She wishes she wasn’t alone and had some friends
Far far away and knowing she will have to wait until dawn to see the rainbow
Feeling sleepy she wishes her head was laying on a pillow
“Please please can you help me” she hears
A peasant stood before full of sorrow and tears
Begging for food this peasant is staving
Needy and dirty and dressed in rags so alarming
Angelica has packed but one piece of bread for her venture
She reaches into her pocket and offers her this kind gesture
The peasant gasps at the kindness and generosity she is shown
Angelica leaves as she is fearful of the unknown
Onwards she goes capturing that first glimpse of sunrise
She now hears the howling squawks of the demons as they fly overhead in the skies
Fearful and scared now being chased by the daemons
Running as fast as she can crying and screaming
A daemon has her now in his clutches and cornered
There is no escape she now fears and cannot move forward
The demon reaches out and snatches the pendulum
Leaving Angelica so helpless and trembling
He attempts to take flight but cries out in pain
The pendulum is lit and melting his brain
He is not a pure soul so will not be able to hold
He faces a perilous death in which it does scold
The pendulum falls from the demon’s grasp
The pendulum shattered in pieces and the magical pathway is fading fast
Angelica in floods of tears as she cries out why oh why
The other demons circling, fly away now in the sky
Plunged in darkness alone and sobbing in the woods
A glowing great light the peasant before her she stood
But wait, the peasant is and angel transformed
“I thank you for the bread she spoke and informed”
Angelica is speechless at this beautiful sight she is seeing
She cant believe her eyes at what a vision that’s revealing
The angel explains she was dressed as a peasant in disguise
To test the true integrity before she found her prize
Angelica has proven herself worthy and true without lies
She had to ensure the pendulum was in safe hands from the divine realm
Angelica replies “I’m glad you enjoyed your bread I’m feeling rather overwhelmed”
The angel rewards her kindness with re forging the shattered crystals
Glowing brightly again the mended pendulum and pathway re appears so mystical
The pathway reappeared glowing bright and true
Angelicas hopes restored seeing the sights again in her view
“Carry on Angelica and follow the pathway to the rainbow”
The angel disappears and is gone through the shadows
Angelica sees the end of the rainbow is nearing
The multicolours and magic is fast appearing
She walks through the mystical enchanting colours
To see a glowing pot of gold that she can now save her brother
She is filled with such happiness and glee
Thinking of Bella her horse she can buy back the fee
There is way to much gold here for Angelica to carry
She wants to leave now and is in such a hurry
Through the rainbow appears a beautiful unicorn
Spreading her wings so wild and free not having to conform
Offering Angelica, a ride for her long journey ahead
She eagerly hops on so excited and off they both fled
Off they go soaring through the wispy clouds and sky
Flying so very fast and up so very high
At home at last with her golden surprises
No more selling her brother she so despises
The family are shocked and stunned with angelicas arrival
No more beg borrowing and stealing and out survival
The joyful celebrations
They are all ecstatic at their new situation
Mother and father hug Angelica tightly
So happy they all are and so they should be so rightly
“Let’s hitch a ride Angelica, on the unicorn to buy Bella back”
“They won’t believe there eyes if we turn up riding that”
Jack and Angelica venture on to the market in the village
The new horse mans owner gasps in shock and refuses to sell, he will not budge
They show him the gold and plead and plead
He refuses their offer and puts Bella on a lead
Little do they know the angel is watching over the situation
She is eager to help and sharing their frustration
Thunder from the heavens struck with the strongest vibration
Bella has now suddenly grown wings
Off the collar breaks, over there it pings
There is now an audience in the crowd
Bella is glistening with multicolours so proud
They both jump on her back and yell giddyap
As they waved goodbye and laughed at the selfish idiot
Angelica notices the pendulum flashing so bright
She knows its time so say goodbye to its magical light
Time to reappear with another child in dyer need
It disappears into the darkness to help the next child indeed.
Both filled with such happiness and laughter
They flew back to their home and lived happily ever after.
