The One That Has My Heart

Our story begins on the night of a blue moon. Adam is sitting on his couch and is about to enjoy his dinner of garlic and butter mash potatoes, sliced cooked carrots and a London broil steak with just the right seasonings, cooked to perfection. As Adam sits straight up and turns on the television he hears screaming from the streets. He stands up and walks to the window and looks out to see the moon is very close to our earth and the sky and light with a neon green glows that looks like as if someone turned on a lava lamp. He looks down from his 6th floor apartment window to see hundreds of people screaming and running for their lives. Petrified he turns his head to the T.V. and sees the news is on and turns up the volume to listen.

News Reporter: "As you can see behind me, only hours ago is was a sunny day and now its a glomming Green sky during our blue moon. People from the city are running for their lives believing it's the end of the world." "...Wh...what? I'm receiving an update, it appears that everywhere in the world, the sky is green and our moon is is huge and very close to the earth. Parts of the earth that it's sunny have gone to green sky's and blue glimpse of the moon. I will keep you updated as reports come in, until then I'm Katie Poulin channel 9 HDGR."

Adam puts his shoes on and leave his one bedroom apartment. He makes it outside and civilians are still running and screaming. As he made his way down the street from his apartment Adam was look up at the gory sky and was not looking where he was walking his chin suddenly was in pain and fell backward to the ground, he looked in front of him and saw his friend Cindy on the ground. Cindy was his next door neighbor of 6 years. She was short thin and had a snow white color for skin. She looked up at Adam who had already stood up and reached his hand out to help her up.

Cindy: "Any idea on what's going on?"

Adam: "No I came home and made food, I turned the T.V. on and heard screaming. Are you okay?"

Cindy: "Yeah, just a scratch on my elbow. We need to get out of here."

They continued down the street. A loud cracking sound came crashing through the air. Then nothing but silence. Everyone around the two froze and looked up at the sky. Adam and Cindy grabbed each others hands and caressed one another in fear. The sky cleared and the moon has moved away quite a bit. Suddenly a bright green Light shot down from the sky. A figure floated down at a steady speed and when it touched the ground it tried to speak in many languages including its own, until Adam spoke up.

Unknown Being: "Hello fellow earth beings, please someone speak back so I know I'm speaking in the correct language."

Adam: "Hel....Hello, my name is Adam, I can understand you."

The being turned to Adam. Adam looked at the being in terror, wondering if it was going to kill him and Cindy. He examined the creature. It was about 6 feet tall, purple bright skin, with bright charcoal black eyes, the being had human features.

Adam: "Who are you? Why are you here? What do you want?"

Unknown Being: "My name is zacton, I am from the planet you call pluto. I am here in search for someone. I do not wish to harm anyone or anything. If you help me find what I am looking for, I will leave after I have retrieved it."

Adam: " What is it your looking for?"

Zacton: "I am looking for the one you beings call Cindy Newton and the one that has her heart. Do you know these humans?"

Adam turned slowly and looked at Cindy. Her face is paler than it has ever been, she began to cry and backed away. Adam looking confused asked Zacton to give him a moment and walked up to Cindy. She was very scared and didn't let Adam touch her. He began to walk closer and tried to talk to her but she said "No! get away Adam!" and he backed a way.

Adam: "Why does Zacton want you?"

Cindy: "......"

Adam: "Why does..."

Cindy stands up straight and begins walking towards Zacton. Her eyes start turning as black as Zactons. Cindy stares forward and her look is as cold as a winter snowy night. As she steps into the beam of green light, her skin began to turn from soft pale white skin to bright glimmering purple. Her arms studded in gems. Adam took a step back, hand to his mouth and gasped.

Zacton: "Hello taki, have you found the one that has your heart?"

Cindy stops and drops her head. She couldn't tell Zacton that she has for the safety of him.

Cindy in her true form: "No. I failed to find my true love that would have my heart."

Zacton: "Very well, we need to leave this planet and let your parents give your punishment."

Cindy began to cry and turned and looked at Adam. She whispers to him, "I'm sorry please forgive me." Adam ran and grabbed her hand.

Adam: "Cindy! why didn't you tell me you were an alien?"

Cindy: (Whispering so Zacton doesn't hear) "Because you wouldn't have my heart if you knew the truth."

Adam stared at her then looked down as if to be thinking. Every memory he had ever had of Cindy Newton came flooding into his mind. After a moment he let go of Cindy's hand and walked around her.

Cindy: "Adam! No, what are you doing?!?!"

Adam: "Telling Zacton the truth."

With people still standing around in fear watching and listening as Adam walking up to to Zacton shaking with fear but putting on a brave face, he stands in front of the alien and spoke.

Adam: "Zacton! I have Cindy Newtons heart. I'm in love with her no matter what she looks like or if she's human or alien."

Zacton taking a back looks at Adam with a questioning look and says, "Do you wish to be with Taki forever? Even if it means you must leave your planet and become an alien? It will be a painful process and you will scream." Adam thought back on his life. He was bullied as a child by his peers and his parents. The feeling of lost he felt all his life came to the surface, then he thought of Cindy and how she made him feel he was not a nobody but the only person in her world and he smiled. Adam looked around him, he saw all the faces that were surrounding him and looked at Cindy once more. "Yes, I don't belong here. I belong with Taki." Zacton smiled and nodded.

Zacton: "As you wish. Princess, we must be on our way. Shall we go?"

Adam and everyone whispering around began to mumble and gasp, "Princess?" Adam walked up to Cindy and touched her face gently. "I have so much to learn about you. Are you ready to go home Taki?" Cindy touched his hand and replied back, "You can call me Cindy." with that moment Adam, Cindy and Zacton stood in the beam of green light from the sky and began to float up. People on the ground in amazement cheered for Adam and Cindy, some yelled out come back in visit. Adam and Cindy kissed for the very first time as the reached the clouds and disappeared. The light of green shot up from the ground as if it was sucked up from the sky and the street fell silent.

It would be 6 years after the sky light up green , Cindy and Adam would return. when they arrive back the streets filled with commotion but not of screams and crying of fear, it would be cheering and excitement of the two returned to Earth as if it was the night they left. The end of this story is not over. when they come down from the beam of green light they are covered in blood and Cindy is holding a cloth close to her chest. The crowd grows silent as the two leave the beam and transform in their human forms. As people begin to crowd around the now unconscious beings they hear the faint cry coming from under Cindy's chest. The cry of a little baby girl.
