The Old Man and the Pricey Ring
One Friday evening, an elderly gentleman in his 70s, and a beautiful, young lady in her 20s, entered a jewelry store.
Ripple was telling the jeweler his girlfriend was looking for a special ring. The jeweler rifled through a few items of jewelry and gave him a $5,000 ring. The old man said
''No, I want to see something more out of the ordinary.
The jeweler opened his safe to his special collection and took out yet another ring.
"This one's worth $40,000."
The young woman's eyes twinkled and her entire body shook with excitement.
"I'll take it!" the old man said.
''How will you make payment?'' the jeweler asked.
The old man said
''By check, but I know you've got to make sure my check is good, so I'm writing it now, you call the bank Monday and get the money. ''I'll pick up the ring on Monday evening''
On Monday morning the jeweler called the old man and said ''That account does not have any money.
The old man smiled and said
''I know but I had a very enjoyable weekend.''
