The Ninth Spell Of The Sorceress

Introduction

I follow The Enchanted Booklet on Facebook and am literally enchanted by many of the images that they share.

I was thinking that maybe this should go into the Vocal Art Community, but it is a fictional story. Maybe I will do a piece on The Enchanted Booklet as they do find some impressive pictures to share.

The Ninth Spell Of The Sorceress

This was the ninth spell of the Sorceress, the one that would show her power was true.

She had walked out of a loveless marriage into the deep forest and found true friends in the creatures that she met there. The longer she stayed, she became aware of another world in which fae, dryads and others that she had originally thought were figments of imagination or myth.

They taught her to cast her first spell, to show her visions of faerie lands, and when she succeeded, she knew that she had found a new life. She felt the magic, and she was called Sorceress.

The second spell conjured up a grimoire, full of stories, spells and tales of creatures, good and evil. She needed somewhere to live as she had been sleeping under trees and bushes, with the creatures of the forest.

Reading the grimoire, she found a spell to build a white witch's house, which she decided would be perfect. After all, witches and sorceresses were both women of power, who cared for the Earth, nature and the good of all. So the third spell was cast, and in the sorest there stood The House of The Sorceress.

Sometimes, thieves and vagabonds came into the forest to do harm and steal, so the Sorceress cast a fourth spell to protect her house and the creatures of the forest. Evil men who came into the forest always found it empty from then on.

The Sorceress gathered familiars to keep her company and help her look after the forest and its creatures and inhabitants. She also knew that there were good villagers who sometimes needed help, so her fifth spell was to allow them to find her when they were in need, and when they came, she helped them, and in return, they brought her gifts.

The Sorceress became loved by those who knew her and was invited to the Land of Fae to be shown more magic and make new Fae friends. The sixth spell was cast, and she spent time in the land of Fae, meeting fairies, elves, and in the wateries, kelpies and selkies. The Sorceress's mind became more magically knowledgeable, and eventually she cast her seventh spell to return to her forest.

Her eighth spell was to create a cauldron, which she needed for her most important spell yet. The cauldron was black cast-iron, decorated with mystical sigils drawn from the grimoire.

Then it was time for the ninth spell.

Her familiars were with her, and she had horns of magic powders and had built a fire under the cauldron. This spell was to bring her a companion, a helper and a lover. She had never had someone whom she could trust with her life, but this spell would give her that creature.

The spell was cast.

There was a light, and a portal opened, and her companion stepped through, and they embraced. She had found her soul mate.

There were now two in the White Witch's House, the Sorceress and her Soul Mate, and all her familiars were happy.

The Ninth Spell had made their lives complete.
