There weren’t always dragons in the valley. They were forced to migrate. A long time ago there lived a king named Levias he and the dragon queen Scorpia lived in peace. Scropia had promised that none of the dragons were to touch a human and in return Levias would provide them with food and water from the farms. However, Levias had two sons both of whom hated the dragons for they lived off their land and giving nothing in return. One day the sons and the king sat down to breakfast. The sons came up with a cruel and evil plan to kill the king. The eldest son filled the king’s chalice with a poison, it was deadly for no one could smell it or see it. The king drank from his chalice and became very ill. The king asked them both to his room.
“Roman and Dustin you must know something important. The dragon’s own this land and they have been so humble to let us stay…” and before he could finish his sentence the king breathed his last breath.
The sons realized their mistake too late.
“I’m sorry father! We had no idea!” Cried the eldest son, Roman.
“We did not mean to kill you!” Said the second son, Dustin.
Sadly, the words that were uttered were only heard by the dragons and word carried quickly to Scorpia. Scorpia ordered two dragons to come and kidnap the two sons. They were carried away into Scorpia’s cave palace.
“I have heard that the king is dead and your intentions were evil. You wanted this land for yourself, you two are fools we own this land and we let you on our terrace,” she hissed. Now that you’ve committed a treason against your own people. You will watch them die, we burn down every house and every being in it. You are no longer welcome into the valley,” she said with great anger.
“Please we had no idea,” begged the eldest son.
“Coward!” She yelled.
“Your most gracious highness, give us a few hours to warn people and then you can burn it to the ground and we will never set foot in the valley again,” said the second son.
“Punishment has to be done. You have until dusk,” she said. “Your brother however,” and she whipped her tail around and she faced him. A fiery breath exhaled from her belly and the eldest brother turned to ash. The second brother was frightened. He was stunned and shocked, but understood Scorpia’s decision. Scorpia’s guard clasped Dustin in his talons and flew back into the valley.
“Thank you for your grace,” said Dustin as he was dropped off back into the valley. He lit the fire to evacuate the valley. The people were stunned. All families hurried and packed up their belongings carts started to wheel through the town and out of the valley. The sun started to lower into the valley and Dustin stood by the castle and watched as the valley went up in flames and smoke. The dragons flew through the air burning every cottage and house in sight. Scorpia faced Dustin.
“You are not a coward Dustin but you stood by as your father died and you stood by as your brother died. I will not kill you,” she said with cold words. “You will join us as a dragon!” She shouted and she breathed a puff of purple air. Dustin’s body rose and started to changed green and white scales appeared on his body, suddenly wings emerged from his back and sharp talons and teeth grew painfully from his hands and mouth. Dustin screamed and yelled until he was no longer human.
That’s why now there are dragons in the valley. Most of the valley people were able to flee and now they live in the mountains with the elves. Never bothering the dragon race.
