The Lost Key

It was a quiet morning when Mia found a small, golden key lying in her garden. It sparkled under the sunlight as if it had been waiting just for her.

She looked around — no one was there. Curious, she picked it up and noticed tiny letters on it: “To the Heart of Wonder.”

“What could that mean?” she whispered.

Mia searched the house, the shed, even her mailbox — but no lock seemed to fit. Then she remembered the old oak tree at the end of the lane, the one with a little door at its base that she used to imagine led to a fairy world.

She ran to the tree, heart racing, and gently turned the key in the tiny lock. Click!

The door opened, and warm golden light spilled out. Inside, she saw a staircase spiraling down into a soft glow. Mia smiled, took a deep breath, and stepped inside — ready for an adventure she’d never forget.
