September 18 2027. It's been 3 months since the end of the outbreak me and my little brother are still alone our parents died before the outbreak they were both leaders of mafia groups thats actually how they met but thats a different story for another time. they were attacked when i was 10 my brother was only 3 they were murdered right in front of us i held my mom in my arms as she slowly drifted away. Before she died she handed me a silver heart shaped locket. When I opened it up it had our favorite picture of me my mom, dad and my little brother JJ in it. I had to look over JJ through the outbreak. It wasn't easy but we got through it and now here we are. I'm now 19 and he is 12. I have taught him alot. My parents taught me how to be a trained assassin when I was young if I had to protect myself and that helped a lot with the zombies. There is a group of people that the zombies have corrupted and now they are trying to keep the population down they call themselves the knight walkers because that is when they are most active.

Hi JJ I said as he woke me up by jumping on my bed. Look ember there outside again. I go up to the window and see the deer. They are beautiful JJ i said. Hey sis when are we moving again he asked. Today I said, ``Go get your stuff packed green bean i said. Okay sis he ran out and I smiled to myself. When we got done packing we left to follow the knight walkers trail. All of a sudden an arrow flew by my face and JJ ducked. I saw one of the walkers and started to fight him. He got a good punch in but I knocked him out before he could do anything. JJ looked at me and said sis your nose. I felt my nose and it was bleeding. I wiped the blood off my face and looked at JJ. How do you never cry or anything? It's like you're immune to pain, JJ said. And he was right ever since I was born. I never really feel pain. My dad said I was special and well I guess he was right. I looked at JJ and said well i guess i really am immune to pain. JJ laughed at me, you're weird, Ember, he said. I know i said to him. We should keep going, I said. Okay JJ said. Here is a good place to set up camp for the knight I said. Okay JJ said. We set up camp and had dinner then we went to sleep. I woke up in the morning to footsteps. I jumped up and pulled out my knife. I saw a man he had brown hair and blue eyes. I was about to jump at him till he said wait, I'm not a walker, I'm a good guy. How can I believe you? I said to him, jj woke up and hid behind me. Because I don't have a mark, he said. Every walker has a mark on their shoulder. He lifted up his sleeve and there was no mark. I put my knife down. He reached out his hand im James he said. Ignored him and turned around and started to pack up our camp. JJ looked at James and said what are you doing here?'' I'm following the walkers who killed my parents, said James. How old are you, said JJ. I'm 20, said James. Sorry my sisters being so mean she's always like that said JJ. Its okay, where are your parents said James. JJ started to say they were kil- i interrupted him nothing that concerns you i said. Okay but maybe I can help you, said James. With what I said. He looked over at my map that had where we've been on it. You've been looking for them too, he said. Can you fight? I asked. I can punch, he said. Then punch me, I said. What i'm not gonna punch you he said. Do it i said. Okay fine. He goes to punch me. I caught his punch. Your stance is wrong and you are weak, I said. What how do you know so much about fighting he said. She is an assassin, said JJ. What said James. you turn back to your stuff you are of no use to us i said. Please sis, JJ said. Okay fine but if he dies it's not my fault i said. I start to walk away. Wait, I never got your name, he said. Ember I said as I walked away. We should follow her, said JJ. Yeah lets go said James. uh your a assassin said James. Yep, I said. Do you mind if I ask how James said James. My parents taught me I said and I walked faster. So your parents were assassins to or what James said James. No they were both leaders of a mafia group at least that's what ember told me said JJ. You don't know what your parents said James. No they died when I was 3, said JJ. Oh okay, said James. Hey look I said. What hay both said. They looked at what you were looking at. There was a walker there in a field. You started to walk to it but James stopped you. What you said angrily. You're gonna get hurt, James said. I broke out of his hold and rushed toward the walker. He screams as I stab him and he falls to the ground. Wow, said James. Hey that's my sister said JJ. Oh uh sorry James said looking down blushing. it's okay she needs someone anyway, said JJ. oh uh i don't like her i ju- JJ cuts him off hey it's fine i wont tell her. Okay thanks JJ said James. I walk back over to the boys. Hey, I found a map in his pocket, I said. James took it from me. It says the base is this way, said James. Well then we should get walking, I said. We walked for a while and it started to get cold so we set up camp. I don't think we have enough blankets to keep each of us warm, said JJ. Well I guess we just have to share i said. Are you sure, said James. Well you can just freeze to death then i said to James. No we can share, James said as he looked down in embarrassment. It's the next morning and I wake up and start to get up but a heavy arm keeping me down. I looked over my shoulder and saw James. He looks so peaceful so I get up without waking him up. I get out of the blankets and start to pack up camp. About an hour later James and JJ wake up to the smell of breakfast. I see them and call them over. They see food on a blanket for them. Thay start to eat. I'm sorry for this morning, said James. I look down, blushing . I thought you were still sleeping, I said. Yeah I woke up as you left but I went back to sleep, said James. Oh um sorry i said still looking down. Hey sis you should teach James how to fight, said JJ.

What I said looking at him. Well right now we need all the help we can get to defeat the knight walkers and he's not much help right now said JJ. Wait what said James. You know your right JJ training is in half an hour James i said. Wait, I didn't agree with this, James said. You didn't have to, I said. Half an hour later you and James are at a big field. Ok so where do we start, said James. Punching, I said. Ok so wha- i cut him off by throwing a punch at him. He gets hit. Owwwwww said James. You're supposed to block it, I said. I know I know, said James. About an hour later James got a lot better now he is going to fight me. You ready, I asked. Couldn't be more ready, he said. We started to fight and I ended up pinning him down. Got you, I said. Do you said James. He rolls me over so he is on top. We look into each other's eyes for a second. ooooo are you going to kiss, said JJ. What no i said. That's not what I saw said JJ. It's now knight and JJ is sleeping me and James are by the fire. I looked at him.where did you get that necklace James asked me. I looked down at my heart locket and I opened it. Is that what your parents James said? Yeah my mom gave me this before she passed, I said looking down. He lifted my chin up to meet his eyes. It will all be ok you know that right he said. Yeah I know I said looking at him. And all of a sudden he kissed me but I didn't pull away. After a few seconds we both pulled away. We should get some sleep, I said. Yeah we have a big day tomorrow. I woke up to JJ yelling at me to wake up. Ember wake up, we have to go, he said. Ok ok im up i said. I got up and saw James packing stuff up. I was asleep for that long, I asked. You looked really peaceful. I didn't want to wake you, James said. Ok well we should get going i said. Ok JJ said. We've been walking forever, JJ said. Stop being a baby, I said. Wait what is that James said. Were here i said looking at the base. Let's go, I said. Wait, we need a plan, James said. I have a plan to attack , I said walking to the base. JJ and James ran after me. When we got to the base we were met by four guards and we started to fight. I got down 2 of them JJ and James got the other 2. We got to the center of the base and saw the leader. This is my chance to make everything normal again, I thought to myself. I lunged toward him with my knife in hand. We started to fight while James and JJ fought off the guards. I punched him and I was winning. I stabbed him and it was finally the end of the fight...or so I thought out of nowhere a knife flew into my stomach. I fell to the ground and it all turned black. I wake up and I see bright lights. I'm in a hospital i thought to myself. I turned to the side and I saw James holding my hand and he looked at me. You're awake, he said happily. How long was I out , I asked. About a month later he said, looking at me. JJ comes in the room and runs in my arms sis your up JJ said. It's been about a week since I woke up and I'm in my room and James comes in. Hey Ember i have something to ask you, he said. Oh okay i said. Would you like to go on a date? Maybe James asked. Of course I would, I said. It's been a few years and me and James are married and i come down stairs to James and JJ. I have some news I said. Okay they said. Well um James, you're gonna be a dad I said. What is amazing, James said. I'm gonna be an uncle, JJ said. Yeah you are, I said. And from then on we lived happily with me and James, baby girl and my brother.
