The Hidden World
This is an old story about a magical world behind a waterfall. It is an old story, back in 2019, for my teacher as a gift
Chapter one: The hidden world
Behind the water curtain of the Plitvice waterfalls lies a magical world full of elves and mermaids, dragons, and phoenixes. The hidden land of Lanthir.
Lanthir’s royal family lives in a beautiful palace, in the mountains of Plual. The palace with clean white walls and blue roofs and windows surrounded by a beautiful stone fence. The palace is also surrounded by majestic gardens with green grass, colorful flowers, and fountains with crystal-clear turquoise water.
The royal family consists of King Fredrich, he has short brown hair and a beard, he has tan skin and his eyes are light green. Queen Daena, has long wavy black that she ties back with a silver clip, she has pale skin and pierces blue eyes. They have a son, Prince Pedro, who is 300 years old (25 human years), he is tall and has short black hair, he is tall and has greenish blue eyes. The king and queen also have two daughters, Princess Lucia and Princess Freya. Princess Freya is 204 years old (17 in human years) and has long brown curly hair, she wears a high ponytail, and just like her father, she has bright green eyes. On the other hand, princess Lucia has pale skin and shorter dark brown hair that reaches her shoulders, she is 204 years old (17 in human years). Princess Lucia and Princess Freya are twins. Freya likes battling and Lucia likes battles but she likes more girly things and wants to be the queen. Prince Pedro enjoys music and gardening over battling.
The community Lanthir consists of elves, fairies, trolls, dwarfs, hobbits, mermaids, and other magical creatures.
Lanthir is a land of more than one language but everyone there speaks the enchanted language elvish. Luckily, for your benefit I have translated it into a language you can understand, English.
Wait! There is something you need to know, but you can’t tell anyone, the people here don’t like to talk about it. Threw the Enchanted forest, over the Silver mountains, and around the Emerald lake in the depths of the Burning volcanos, hide the evil creatures called Chichoa. The Chichoas don’t sound very scary but they are terrifying scaly creatures. Chichoas are brownish scaly creatures with a hunched back and three fingers on each leg with black sharp nails. The most dangerous part of the Chichaos is their sharp teeth in their big mouth and their dark emotionless eyes. The Chichaos are ruled by a warrior elf, she was banished from the kingdom after betraying the royal family while battling the Chichaos, her name is Takari. Takari has dark brown skin and long brown curly hair she wears down with a simple golden braided crown.
Chapter two: The human
The events of this book started with this one event.
Once when I and Freya were on a walk through the forest, hiking up to the waterfall (the entrance to Lanthir). Freya runs ahead.
“Lucia there is something here!” Freya yells.
“What is it,” I say running toward her
When I finally caught up to her, she saw what appeared to be a human.
“Is that a human?” Freya asked.
“I think so,” I answered unsurely.
It had long blond hair and a blue clip in its hair. You could not tell much more about it because it was sleeping.
“What is it doing here?” Freya asked again.
“I think it’s a she,” I mumbled.
The thing started to move, me and Freya jumped up terrified.
“I think it’s hurt,” Freya points out.
“SHE!” I shouted. The human moved again.
“Ok! But stop shouting or you will wake ‘her’. We should do something.” she orders me.
“I take her hands and you take her feet.” I offered.
We picked up the human and took her back to the palace. It took us over an hour, the human kept slipping out of our hands. When we got to the palace we had to convince the guards to let the human in. We rushed the thing to our palace doctor, where it got checked. Luckily, the human was alive just a little knocked out.
Chapter three: Emilia
The human slowly starts opening its eyes and starts to sit up as prince Pedro walked in.
“I think it woke up,” Pedro whispered to me.
“AAAAAAAAAA!” shouted the human when it saw us.
I put my hand in front of her mouth shutting her up.
“Pshshsh!” I shushed her.
“Who are you? And you? Where am I?”
“My name is princess Lucia, this is my sister princess Freya and this is prince Pedro you are in the land of Lanthir and are in our palace,” I answered her questions.
“What is your name human?” Pedro asked.
“My name is Emilia, and I am 17 years old.” Emilia answered, “how old are you?”
“We are twins, we're both 17,” Lucia answered softly.
Emilia started getting up from the bed.
“Stay seated!” Freya commanded her.
“Ok,” Emilia agreed with fear in her voice.
“You're scaring her Freya,” I mumbled into Freya's ear and Pedro agreed.
“Here you must be starving, here is some food. It’s angel bread with raspberries and blackberries. And this drink is plum tree tea.” I said handing her the tray of food.
“Your clothes are completely ruined. Guard fetch her some clean clothes.” I said.
The guard returns with clean clothes. He brought a white flowy dress with a braided brown belt.
“Here is a simple dress, you can wear your own shoes,” Freya informed her.
“Thanks,” Emilia thanked.
“When you're done just ring this bell and we can take you back to the human world,” Lucia told Emilia the plan.
Chapter four: The ambush
We walk down the stairs to the entrance. As soon as we walk out the door Emilia looks out at the view.
“Wow! It’s beautiful,” she comments.
“It is,” I agree “We should go.”
We walk down the rock stairs onto a path leading into the forest. We walked through the forest but a few meters from the exit we started to hear noises. Then I spotted something starting surrounding us.
“Shshshsh. Don’t move.” Freya whispered.
We start to see the things surrounding us.
“What is that?” Emilia asked
“Shshshshshsh.” Freya shushed her.
“Slowly turn around, hold on to my hand, and when I tell you to run... Run.” I told Emilia turning around.
“RUN!” I yelled, and we started running as fast as we could.
We were running like crazy and the creatures started chasing us.
“We are approaching the destination, let go of Freya and when I tell you to drop, stop everything and drop on the floor,” I commanded again.
“DROP” I yelled.
We slid into a hole and Freya closed the exit behind us. We sat in silence.
“What is this place?” Emilia asked.
“Shshshshsh.” Freya shushed her.
“What were those things?” Emilia asked again.
“Shshshsh” Freya shushed her again.
“EXPLAIN WHAT ON EARTH IS HAPPENING!” Emilia yelled.
“Shush.” I covered her mouth
We sat in silence until we could not hear any more creatures.
Chapter five: The explanation
“Ok, I need some answers,” Emilia said.
“You tell her Lucia,” Freya commanded me.
“390 years ago our grandfather battled these creatures called chichao, those were the creatures we saw. During the battle our grandfather's best warrior, a girl called Takari, betrayed him. She joined the chichao’s side and killed our grandfather. When She returned with the rest of the army our then 180-year-old dad..” I told the story.
“180?” Emilia asked.
“180 is 15 human years. Continuing, our dad had to become king and he made the decision to kick Tackari out of the kingdom, and that made her very mad. She left saying this isn't the last you see of me and she joined the chichao. She is now hiding somewhere with the chichaos and she is 570 years old, 47 in human terms.” I finished the story.
“Wow,” Emilia said.
“I bet it was her who sent the monsters here, we have to take her down,” Freya said with a mad voice.
“We have to do something,” Emilia said.
“No, no, no, no, we will do something but you Emilia will stay here,” I explained.
“Come on, you can’t leave me here, I have 3 older brothers I know how to fight,” Emilia convinced us.
“That's what you think a battle is, in battle you can get seriously hurt or die, fighting with your brother you will get pinched or scratched,” Freya gets mad.
“Then train me,” Emilia said.
“That could work, Freya you will train her, but even after you are trained you lay low, ok,” I told everyone what will happen.
“Ok,” Freya and Emilia agreed.
Chapter six: The preparation
We ran quietly back to the palace to train Emilia. While Freya trained Emilia I collected supplies and prepared the elvish army. I ran down to the training room.
“Ok, it's been 4 hours. I can't give you any more time we have to go,” I said catching my breath.
“Ok then you are ready to let's head out,” Freya commanded.
We packed our things and headed out on our way to the volcanos.
When we got to the volcanos we were greeted by the chichao army they must have seen us coming. We moved around as fast as possible because suddenly the chichaos ran towards us.
Chapter seven: The battle
When the chichaos started running toward us our warriors and warriors on horses headed toward them too. Our archers started shooting as Pedro rode out on a horse leading the army. There was lots of shouting and blood, and hundreds of chichaos and elves died after weeks of war...
THE VICTORY WAS OURS! All the chichaos were dead and we arrested Takari.
We marched back to the palace singing and shouting. Back at the castle, we had a huge 2-day victory celebration, it was magical.
As soon as it was all over Emilia changed into a long black dress and brown boots. We led her back to the entrance. When we finally got there we had to say our goodbyes.
“This was an extremely dangerous and crazy experience but I will miss you so much,” Emilia said, I could see tears slowly dripping down her cheek.
“I will miss you too,” Freya said emotionlessly but she turned away and I could hear her sobbing.
“I haven’t known you very long but you are so great and I will miss you so much. Feel free to visit any time,” I said.
I, Emilia and Freya had a big group hug and then Emilia had to leave and go back to the human world. Before she left prince Pedro walked up to her and gave her one of the most important and valued necklaces of Lanthir so she to remember our land and be able to return to visit.
Emilia walked through the waterfall and that was goodbye forever or at least a very long time.
