The Greedy Little Mouse – Three Short Tales of Wisdom
Three gentle lessons for young readers about cleverness, kindness, and listening to those who care.

There was a little mouse who was very greedy.
He never listened to anyone — not even his mother.
One day, a delicious smell of cheese reached his tiny nose.
Without listening to his mother’s warning, he ran to find it.
“Be careful, my son!” Mother Mouse called out.
“That smell comes from a trap! Don’t go there!”
But the greedy little mouse didn’t stop.

He followed the smell until he saw a big piece of cheese.
He jumped with joy and ran toward it —
Snap! The trap closed, and he was caught!
He couldn’t even reach the cheese.

Mother Mouse hurried back with her friends.
Together, they pulled and pushed until the little mouse was free.

With tears in his eyes, he said,
“Mom, I promise I’ll always listen to you and the elders from now on.”
Mother Mouse smiled and hugged him tightly.

The Greedy Little Mouse and the Foolish Cat
Written by Faramarz Parsa

One sunny afternoon,
the little greedy mouse peeked out of his hole.
On the window sill, a golden piece of cheese shone brightly —
and right beside it, a sleepy cat!

The cat smiled and purred:
“Don’t be afraid, little one.
This cheese is for you!
I brought it as a gift!”

But from inside the hole,
Mama Mouse whispered,
“No, my dear! That’s a trap!
The cat just wants to catch you!”

The little mouse giggled and said,
“Don’t worry, Mama.
I’ll make the cat bring the cheese to me!”

He turned to the cat and said sweetly,
“If you bring the cheese here to my hole,
I’ll eat and grow fat —
and then, you’ll have a bigger meal!”

The cat licked his whiskers and thought,
“What a clever little snack!”
So he carried the cheese right to the mouse’s door.

Quick as lightning — SWOOSH!
The mouse pulled the cheese inside.
The cat’s paw grabbed at air —
but the mouse was gone!

From inside came a little laugh:
“Foolish cat!
You gave me the cheese,
but I gave you nothing!
Now I’m full and you’re still hungry!”

🐾
Moral:
Clever thinking saves you from every trap — even from a cat!

The Greedy Little Mouse and the Snake
Written by Faramarz Parsa

In the corner of the barn,
a sweet smell filled the air.
The little greedy mouse said,
“Ah! That cheese looks so fair!”

He tiptoed closer,
his whiskers shook with delight —
but then he stopped and whispered,
“Wait! Traps hide in bright light!”

Just then a shadow moved,
and a hiss came low and wide:
“Little mouse,” said the snake,
“I’ll eat you in one bite!”

The mouse trembled, then smiled:
“Oh, dear Snake, don’t be mad!
Let me pull this cheese for you —
you’ll be so very glad!”

The snake slithered forward,
his eyes on the tasty cheese.
“Closer… just a little closer,”
the clever mouse said with ease.
SNAP! went the trap —
the snake’s tail caught tight!

The snake hissed and wriggled,
but couldn’t move right.
The mouse took the cheese and said,
“Who tricks will be tricked tonight!”

Then he ran home smiling,
with a heart full of cheer:
“The smartest meal,” he giggled,
“is the one won by care, not fear!”
