The Gluu

In an unknown place outside of this universe or any other known universe exists a tower. This tower extends up and down as far as the eye can see, the vision of it perplexes the mind. The ethereal stone of the tower is made up of colors that ripple and pulse through it. In addition to this, the tower looks to have sections and each section has a dominant color.

The tower is surrounded by goo-like darkness that seems to move and pulse with sinister life. Among this darkness at various places are thin lines of color that open slightly and close shortly after. As they pass and light is cast an unnumberable amount of hisses can be heard near the light.

When a portal opens the sounds of screeching are heard and The black goo moves towards it quickly but is not able to reach it before it closes.

The goo that lines the sides of this endless place is made up of an uncountable amount of individual creatures. Each is the same by origin, but still slightly different if one were able to study them. For now, we will call them Gluu. As it's believed they are a form of matter that holds universes together. A lubricant if you will that mostly exists here.

Another portal opens over a section, a small feathered creature can be seen landing on a branch. A Barn Owl, its head tilts as it gazes into the darkness. After a small amount of time, a much larger creature steps through the portal and immediately, looks like the gravity of the creature changes as it begins to fall up. It waves its hand and the portal behind it closes and one above it opens and closes as it passes through. The portals close once the creature disappears.

These creatures continuously slide towards the tower causing perpetual energy for the universes. Looking at the tower, several streeks of the black goo seem to be climbing the tower. Some of them climb in, while others are being cast out of the tower by light. After light is cast, the color of that section of the tower changes followed by the one above it changing to the previous color. Every time the light becomes bright, screeches are heard across the seemingly endless area.

The black mass, sludges towards the tower in slow-moving waves.

Again, screeches and a pulse come from the tower showing the ascension and they each react to the light. When they see their faces, it is faces similar to that of barn owls among other creatures.

Several masses are in motion, all moving towards the tower. As the light shines you hear the sound of several Gluu screeching out towards the light. You can see at the distance, black specs are being ejected from the tower. Various sections seem to light up at a time, causing the primary color to change not following a pattern. While this happens the Gluu attempt to ascend the tower.

We follow a wave of the Gluu as they continue to make their way closer and as the light shines on all of the creatures revealing them to have faces like barn owls, they all begin to make hissing noises at the tower.

Whenever a portal is opened, it is opened in this area and they can sometimes look through or get glimpses of what's inside. They learn to replicate some of the things that they've seen. Which is allowing them to scale the tower.

As the owl-faced Gluu and others with different faces continue their ascent on the wall of the tower, they see that it has changed to a red hue. Peering into the nearest window is a tile patterned floor, that makes the shape of an octagon, and just past it looks to be the back of a completely armored creature whose armor is ruby red. This is a Warden, one of the creatures that live only inside of this tower doing their endless work. It takes one step away, then stops, turns its head to match the gaze of the Gluu.
