The Empty Nesters
Beware...a Microfiction Magic Challenge!
Timothy and Mildred McGrew were living their life anew.
Their children had flown the nest, beginning adulthood.
The McGrews were not worried, as they had plenty to do.
Which was unfortunate for the local neighbourhood.
*
They had put interests and passions temporarily on pause.
A sacrifice fitting for the great privilege of childrearing
Now it was their time to restart their important cause.
Their needs had gone unfulfilled – time for well-drilling.
*
Unlike the others, the McGrews had a dark yearning.
The spare rooms would be filled once again.
With the soon-to-be victims of a good well-drowning

First of all, this is excellent. Second, these are two of the best character names I’ve ever heard. And who doesn’t love a good well-drowning? 😂
Oooo, I love how sinister this was!
Oh geez, it took a dark turn so quickly. Nicely done! 😯
And when asked how their neighbors were doing, the McGrews replied, "Why, they're feeling well."
Oh, that was wicked and clever. Another winner, Paul!
Oh my gosh, Paul, I gotta start bracing myself! 😂 Such a lovely and pleasant story with a twisted end. You’ve got an entire micfrofiction horror series going on! Great work!
Wow,😱Did not see that ending coming . That was a great Horror /triller ending
Super!!!💖💖💕
