The Doctor's Appointment

A Chatfiction Drabble With My Phone

I got a text.

"You Have A Doctor's Appointment. Follow This Link"

I follow the link

"You must use your NHS ID and password"

So I Do

"Before you log in, we have sent you a six-digit code to your phone to make sure it is you"

The code flashes up, I copy it and paste it in, it only copies the first character.

I check the messages and key in the six numbers individually.

"You must use your NHS ID and password"

Already done that. I do it anyway.

"Your ID is wrong. Goodbye"

I will miss that appointment.

That moment when bureaucracy outsmarts you—just one tiny typo and, poof, you lose your spot.
