The Demystifying of Human behavior
Like walking off a bridge into the sunset. Again and again. The second first time.

Have I not done this before...Seen this before.
From afar I see the spectacular colorful flavors of the sun awakening
The first glimmer of dawn stretches across the sky, painting it in soft hues of amber and blush.
Golden sunlight spills over the horizon, casting its warm glow on the silhouette of the distant bridge.
Its arches and beams shimmer as the light kisses the wood and rope, transforming the once-dark structure into a radiant pathway leading into the day.
The waters beneath ripple, catching fragments of light, mirroring the sky’s golden embrace. Slowly, the world awakes, bathed in the warmth of a new beginning.
The sun, a brilliant orb of golden sunshine, glorifying its rising, illuminates the bridge, painting its structure in a soft, mellow shade.
The sky above transitions from deep shadows to a pastel palette of blues, pinks, and oranges, as the distant rays cascade across the heavens.
Thus it becomes a metaphor for the beginning beauty of our human existence.
Yet beauty, like yin and yang, has its ugly underside
Now, juxtaposing our experiences---comparing unreality with actuality, leaves us in a fugue state of beauty versus truth, tangible versus the intangible.
Humanity.
Being human is akin to a perpetual game of luck and chance
Of cat (death) and mouse (life), mostly the cat is the victor
For when the sun dims, and we draw closer to observe,
To heed the rot and decay hiding beneath the facade
Of the now un-illuminated nature of the bridge
We see the actual structured veracity, the accuracy of it all
Humanity exists, teetering unsteadily on that wooden bridge
The slats are broken in places, the bridge itself is wobbly
Rope of dubious character entwines the meagerly sides
Barely affording meat for the hands to firmly grasp
Heaven forbid you are brave enough to glance below
Where swirling murky water flows slowly, undulating
Tempting you to let go and just fall into the abyss...
Give up---it mocks and jeer, you are a loser anyway
The effect is designed to mesmerize and hypnotize
Rob you of your soul...drag you to the pits of hell
You feel every creak and shift beneath your feet, a faint unease rippling through your senses.
The wooden planks groan softly, yielding ever so slightly with each step. You grip the railing, the frayed cord un-reassuring, unsteady...as you lean forward to glance below.
The water moves sluggishly, thick and murky, its surface swirling lazily in muted browns and greens.
It holds an air of mystery...what lies beneath remains unseen, shrouded in its opaque depths.
Occasionally, faint ripples disturb the stillness, hints of unseen life shifting below. Could there be alligators and worse, hiding...waiting...anticipating their next meal.
The air smells damp, tinged with the earthy aroma of the water and the bridge’s aging wood.
For a moment, you feel suspended between the uncertainty of the bridge and the quiet pull of the slow-moving water, your heartbeat echoing the steady rhythm of its flow.
You stand there for a very long time. Waiting...pondering
Day again begins to return to night.
Behind you, is death. Across the bridge is life.
You have no choice.
To cross over...or not to cross over.
Life or death.
Choose.
It grows dark and you carefully step away from the bridge.
Night passes slowly. You lay curled up on the grass, insecurity and uncertainty overwhelms you. Thankfully...in the fetal embrace of imagined comfort, sleep welcomes you to her bosom.
Sweet release from your choices. Unconscious slumber brings a restful pause of silence.
Soon, dawn yawningly breaks. You awaken...and again choice beckons....Again you face the cursed bridge.
But rest has fortified your resolve. You step boldly, refusing to heed the devil's urging...
"Let go". He whispers.
What to do. Humanity awaits...a life to be lived on the other side.
Tentatively, you place one foot on the wretched bridge...You choose life. Every time.

For suddenly, the sun again rises, illuminating the world in all its beauty and splendor.
Perfection may be unattainable
But you choose it all...imperfection and a bit of perfection
Blended together....
Makes it all worthwhile.
With your soul to the sun...
You make your choice.
So It Begins again and again!
The ole devil has to catch you on another day!
But not today...NOT TODAY!
