The mist has descended and the crow waits on the signpost at the grave. figures seemed to move spectrally in the mist, but they did not worry the crow.
The crow was used to waiting, sometimes his friend appeared, sometimes he stayed in his cold dark grave.
This was a winter mist, the tree had shed it's leaves and was waiting for snow.
The crow waited for the vampire.
The mist got thicker.
The moment was coming when the crow would acompany the vampire to the door of his next victim.
The crow would tap on the bedroom window of the victim, the victime would open the window, the vampire would bite, and the village would have one more vampire and become a little less safe for all the other villagers.

Good job this is a story that one must not answer or check every sound one hears for you never know when it will be your last as the grow flies to your death or is it life.
Ooh, this feels deliciously gothic. I love how you built the atmosphere with the mist and the waiting crow.
Oooo, the crow is an accomplice hahaha. Loved this!
