Blood poured down my face and drenched my naked form. It covered the symbols etched into my body, dripping onto the ground. Power engulfed me, even as pain ripped through my lower body. A scream tore from my throat. The flames surrounding me flared in response.
“Almost there,” the conductor of ceremonies encouraged me.
With another wave of pain, the demon was ejected from my loins. It wailed as the liquid of life was wiped from its frail body.
The conductor of ceremonies held it high above her head for all the witnesses to see.
“Behold, the fruit of our latest fertility spell,” she declared. “It is a boy!”

Well that left my skin crawling... well done Stephanie!!
Oh wow! This is phenomenal! And from what I've heard, not an entirely innaccurate description of the pain of childbirth! 🤍
Oh that was chilling. Really well done.
