"The Betrayal of a Fake Friend"
"Learning the Hard Way: The Painful Lesson of a Fake Friendship"

Lily was a sweet and sociable young lady who cherished making new friends. Sarah was the name of her friend. Lily had known Sarah for a number of years, and she had always seemed like a true friend who cared about her.
"So, what do you want to do today?" Lily asked.
"I don't know. Maybe we could go for a walk in the park? Or we could grab some lunch at that new restaurant that just opened up."
"I like the sound of both those ideas. Let's start with the walk and see where the day takes us."
As they walked through the park, they talked about everything and anything that came to their minds, and make jokes.
“You know, I've been feeling a bit down lately. It's been hard with work and everything. I feel like I don't have anyone to talk to." Lily said as she wanted to share her everything with her friend like she always do.
"What do you mean? You can talk to me about anything." Asked Sarah, looking concern.
"It's about Daniel; he seems distant lately; I just can't understand; you know how much I love him; it hurts when he ignores like that."
“Looks like he is an being an asshol-”
“ Wait don’t say that maybe he is just busy with his work” Lily said, a bit offended.
“Ok, I’m sorry lovebird.” Sarah said and chuckled and then continued serious from before “ ok so I think um…you let me talk to him.. I’ll ask him and knock some sense into him.”
“Are you sure? I mean I can’t give his number without his-” Sarah interrupted and said “ Don’t you trust me?”
“ Yeah, I do…ok this is his number.” Lily gave her fiancé, Daniel’s number to sarah with out knowing the real reason why Sarah asked for his number. Lily is an innocent girl and trust her friend whole heartedly.
“ok I’ll talk to him” Sarah said.
"Thanks. You're a good friend." Lily said, feeling greatful having a friend like sarah.
"Of course, you know I always have your back. That's what friends are for."
As the day went on, they laughed, talked, and enjoyed each other's company like they always had.
"I'm really glad we spent the day together. You always know how to make me feel better."
"Me too. You're my best friend, and I would do anything for you."
They hugged, and as they parted ways, Lily couldn't help but feel grateful for having Sarah in her life.
After a few days, Sarah paid a visit to Lily at home. As usual, Lily was delighted to see her. They were talking when someone knocked on Lily's door.
Lily said, "Come in."
Lily saw something odd when Daniel met the two of them inside and greeted them. Though she didn't like how Daniel was staring at Sarah, she ignored it, supposing that she might be overreacting or simply being paranoid.
“Oh, I totally forgot that your father was calling you.” Daniel said looking at lily.
“ It’s okay… um excuse me, I just listen to dad what he wants to say” She said and they both nodded in understanding.
However, when she questioned her father, he claimed he was unaware that Daniel was present. Why would he tell a falsehood to her, Lily wondered? She became aware of it afterwards but refused to accept it. When she returned to her room, nobody was there. Lily's hands began to perspire and her heart began to beat quickly, but she refused to accept what her mind was telling her. Then, in the backyard, she overheard their voices. She moved in the direction the voices were coming from.
They were speaking in low tones, but Lily could hear them because she was standing close to them and could see them but not them. "I told you not to call me from my new number, who even gave you that number," he said.
"I had to take action because you weren't returning my calls, so I asked Lily for your number."
“ She didn’t ask why you were-”
“ No, she didn’t. You know how stupid she is, she had no idea” Lily’s heart broke into pieces hearing their conversation. She trusted both of them, moreover she never even thought about Sarah being fake. She turned around when she saw them making out and a sob left her mouth but she hurriedly cover her mouth with her hands.
“Go say bye to your bitch friend and we can continue at my place” Lily heard Daniel saying to Sarah.
Lily was about to leave but her eyes widened seeing her dad standing there, looking pale
“Dad” Lily whisper and step close to her dad. She felt horrible knowing what her dad just witnessed.
Sarah and Daniel came inside after a minute, Daniel eyes widened looking at scene infront of him. Lily and Her Dad both were crying, he went close to them and said “ what happened? Are you both okay? Lily?”
“Get the hell out of here you bastard! I thought you were like my son. I made you my son but what you did in return. I don’t want you here Get out from here” Lily’s dad yelled at Daniel.
“What are you talking about? I-”
“Don’t! Get out! What were you thinking when you- What my daughter had done wrong to you huh? What she did to you to deserve this? Get out I don’t want to see your face again” Daniel eyes turned cold when he get what Lily’s father trying to say and looked at Lily who was now crying mess.
“You have no right to insult me old man. I just don’t like you ugly daughter and yeah I’m going.” He said and turned to Sarah who was watching the whole drama silently.
“Let’s go” He said to Sarah to which she nodded and start following him but stopped when Lily called her.
“Sarah” Sarah turned around and looked at lily’s puffy eyes and said “Yes, what do you want?”
“Just one question have you ever thought of me as a friend?” She wanted to know.
"Well, you're a stupid person, so I can't say anything. Never was I your friend. I have always been envious of you. where the teacher constantly picks you, and in many other circumstances where you excel against my best efforts. But today I feel satisfied because I won today," she remarked and grinned at the conclusion of her sentence. She looked at Lily's shattered state for the last time before turning around and walking away.
All of the circumstances started to flash before her eyes, and she realised that Lily had been ignoring them because she thought they were just delusional. Sarah was exposed to Lily as a fake friend. All of her thoughtful expressions and words were merely a front since she had been trying to be someone she wasn't. She did not care about their friendship because she had been taking advantage of Lily for her personal gain.
Lily was hurt and disappointed, but she learned an important lesson. She realized that true friends are the ones who are there for you through thick and thin, and they do not betray your trust or talk behind your back.
From that day on, Lily decided to be more cautious about the people she let into her life. She focused on building relationships with those who truly cared about her, and she learned to recognize the signs of a fake friend. She never forgot the pain that Sarah had caused her, but she also knew that it had made her stronger and wiser.
