The Answer Man Ritual

The Answer Man Ritual is a paranormal game that allegedly allows participants to speak to a mysterious figure known as the "Answer Man." What You Will Need:

Ten Participants. This ritual requires exactly 10 people, no more, no less.

Ten Mobile Phones. All phones should be able to make regular calls.

A Quiet Place. The ritual should be conducted in a location where all participants can sit or stand in a circle undisturbed.

Rules:

Never Answer the Answer Man’s Question with “I Don’t Know”. Doing so is said to result in a bad fate, as the Answer Man does not appreciate uncertainty. You Must Answer the Answer Man’s Question Honestly. Giving a careless answer may result in dangerous consequences. If you break the connection or refuse to answer the Answer Man’s question, the game can become dangerous, and the Answer Man may pursue you even after the ritual ends.

Steps to Play:

Make sure you have exactly 10 people. Each person should have a mobile phone, and all phones should be fully charged and capable of making calls. The 10 participants should sit or stand in a circle so they can easily see one another and pass their phones if necessary.

Playing the Game:

Each participant must take out their mobile phone. On the count of three, everyone must dial the phone number of the person to their right. Make sure everyone dials at the same time. For example, if you are sitting in position 1, you dial the person sitting in position 2. The person in position 2 dials the person in position 3, and so on, with the final participant dialing back to the first person (position 10 to position 1).

Most of the calls will result in a busy signal because of the loop of connections created by dialing in a circle. However, one person’s phone may connect to the Answer Man instead of getting a busy signal.

The person whose call connects will be speaking directly to the Answer Man. It is said that once the Answer Man picks up, he will answer any question you ask. This is where the real danger begins.

If your phone connects to the Answer Man, you may ask him any question. The Answer Man is said to know the answer to any question, no matter how obscure or personal. You might ask about your future, relationships, secrets, or the unknown. However, be careful with the types of questions you ask. Answers can sometimes be cryptic or disturbing.

Once you receive your answer, the Answer Man will ask you a question in return. You must answer his question truthfully and thoughtfully.

NOTE: Do not respond with "I don’t know." This is said to anger the Answer Man, and there are reports of people disappearing or facing severe misfortune if they do not give a proper answer.

Ending the Game:

Once you have answered the Answer Man’s question, he will end the call. The game does not require you to repeat the process. However, some versions say that the game is not truly over until everyone who participated has left the area. If you hang up before the Answer Man is finished speaking, or if you refuse to answer his question, there are claims that the Answer Man will come for you. Some stories describe strange occurrences following players home, while others mention people going missing shortly after playing.

After the Ritual:

It’s said that playing the Answer Man ritual more than once can weaken the boundaries between our world and the spirit world. Each time you play, the risks become greater. After playing the game, some participants report experiencing strange or unsettling phenomena. This can include hearing disembodied voices, seeing shadows, or feeling like they are being watched. If anything strange happens after the game, it’s advised to cleanse your space or seek protection through rituals or spiritual practices.

NOTE:

The Answer Man demands an answer to his question. Refusing to answer or hanging up mid-conversation could lead to a curse or worse. If you insult or mock the Answer Man, you might provoke a dangerous reaction. As with many paranormal games, asking about your death is forbidden. The Answer Man may give you an answer, but it’s believed this could curse you or hasten the event.
