Rachel opened the last door on the advent calendar and was surprised by what she saw there. Not Jesus nor a nativity scene nor anything remotely related to Christmas.

Instead, there was a whole array of faces, all of which she recognised as they were all from herself. They were smiling up at her like Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts' Club Band, beatific in their gratitude as without her, they would not exist.

And what a motley crew they were. But she raised her glass of Bucks' Fizz to them, the cast of her very own creation myth.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I don't mean this to be blasphemous. It's just a bit of whimsical fun for which I am known. I am sure that the advent calendars of my youth used to end on Christmas Eve but I am not sure that this is so true anymore and so I have taken a little liberty with this observation and used it in this story.

And to everyone who has supported me this year in my endeavour, Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, whatever suits you and yours. I hope you have a fab time wherever you are and whatever you are doing with whoever and that it brings you joy.

Oodles and oodles of joy.

Two Top Story's in one day? Surely that's one for the record books and good for a very Merry Christmas! You're fixing to dash across the finish line of a story a day challenge, rather than flopping in exhaustion on the other side. Really well done my friend. Well done indeed!
