Bethan

I wanted today to be calm, a day of contemplation away from hassle where I could sit with my thoughts before tonight.

Now, I don't know what to do. I replied to Dave: Why can't you just call me? But he's not replied. He's seen my message...

I'm going to have to go. I don't know what he's going to tell me but I'm not going to be able to settle today.

I reply: Okay. See you at 12pm.

Dave

It's decided. I've chosen a location where we can walk and talk. I need to find out what she knows and try and warn her away from Katie. I'm going to have to play this just right if I want things back on an even keel.

Katie

I've not heard from Bethan today, which is strange. I'll drop her a text and see how she is.

Bethan

Katie's texted me. I forgot with all the anticipation of what today may bring to drop her a note. She seems okay. I haven't told her about meeting Luke yet. I don't think that she'd want to come along but she obviously has some investment in Laney or she wouldn't have set this ball in motion.

I let her know that I'm meeting her dad.

Katie

Bethan's meeting with Dad? Why? Why would he want to meet with her? What is he doing? Has it got anything to do with finding my phone? Is he going to confess to Bethan? Is it all going to come out in the open?

She tells me that he's said he has new information about Laney, which sounds reasonable, doesn't it?

So, why do I feel so worried?

I tell her to be careful.

Luke

I'm a bag of nerves. I've gone to work but I'm useless. Trying to concentrate but I'm struggling. But it would worse if I was at home. Temptation would be too strong. At least here, I'm away from the bottle. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing. I don't know how this is going to go.

I just want it to be done. I just want it - Laney - to be laid to rest.

Loved the rapid fire perspective changes! If it’s like The Bag series something big is on the horizon now that we’ve got a while reorienting to all the players

I hope both Luke and Bethan find their peace of mind. They do need to meet and I hope Bethan makes it to that meeting.
