Malèna: A Movie Review
As a writer, I have watched countless movies that have left me feeling a variety of emotions. But none have quite impacted me as deeply as Malèna. Directed by Giuseppe Tornatore and released in 2000, Malèna is a film that explores the story of a beautiful woman named Malèna Scordia (played by Monica Bellucci) who is the subject of admiration and lust by the men of a small town in Italy during World War II. The film follows the perspective of a young boy, Renato Amoroso (played by Giuseppe Sulfaro), who becomes infatuated with Malèna and is ultimately left heartbroken by the events that unfold.
