Karate Blossoms Part 2
I missed my shift that coming day. I didn't leave my apartment. There was nothing important enough. Even though I work the downstairs deli. That was the only downside. I blasted music, paced, wore headphones over my hooded head. Myrtle, the co shop keep, banged on the door for the greater part of the morning. Pounding while shouting my name. The items on the counter next to the door slowly chattered to the edge. Good thing they lived across town and the deli closes at 12pm on Sundays. I was saved by the bell again.

My Series on Vocal
I thought I’d put together a central repository where people could find all of the series I’ve shared so far on Vocal. (I’m going to be doing a separate one for all my dark flash fiction stories because there’s a lot of those (around 50!) ). I wanted to write a little bit about my other series, what I can remember of them because they were all, mostly, written a long time (about a decade or so ?) ago.

Boomerang of Happiness - 7
Next day at work, Anna was waiting for him at the cafeteria for lunch, as usual. When he came up to her, smiling, she pecked him on the cheek and loudly announced to the entire line, “Alex and I are getting married!” Most of the people in the cafeteria did not know how to react, such a shock it was for everyone. They gave each other puzzled looks, as if saying, “Why? How did this happen?” But then a lonely clapper broke the awkward silence and everyone present started to applaud and cheer, “Congratulations! Long and happy life to you together!” Alex was embarrassed by this attention, but Anna was radiant with happiness. She was particularly chatty over lunch, talking about the details of the wedding and how she imagined it.

Finding My Balance, A Star Wars story
Packing away my clothes, I look around my small apartment, wondering if I'll ever see it again. I let out a long sigh and thought it would be best not to think about frivolous things such as that. I hear my door alert ring out and I want to ignore it. I know who it is. I’m not sure if I’m ready to talk to my colleagues quite yet. The door alert rings again and I sigh, again.

Room of Fire
It was the third time in the past five days that Aniah had heard screaming. It was so faint she’d at first assumed she was imagining it. But, after considering the fact that she was in the fortress-like castle of a psychotic murderer and kidnapper, she decided it was far more likely that the screams were legitimate. They always came from the same area, and she could only hear them from a single room which she was sent to clean daily. The room was completely empty, but she was still made to sweep it out and check for insects every day. In the last five days, she had been delayed just a few minutes in getting to this room three times. Each of those three times, there had been screaming.
