The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
"It all started with a man," he began. Arrogant SOB. He thought he could control powers he didn't fully understand. Anyway," He continued. "He discovered that the universe was split into three separate energy fields. Two being filled with physical matter, with the third separating them like a barrier."

Second Stage
Plop, plop plop. Noise in drops. Sounds exploding in my head making my jaw ache. Opening my eyes, colors assault me like spears of light to my brain as it scrambles to decipher the input. My tongue feels heavy and dry. I find myself sucking on my tongue and swallowing repeatedly, to get saliva flowing. I try to recall simple information as I figure out where I am. Opening my eyes wider but what I see is confusing.

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
After a bit of experimentation, Danny realized that time seemed to pass slower while physically in the veil of dreams. In fact, the more time he spent there, the more flexible the concept of time seemed to be. Danny also learned about the medial barrier. Danny wasn't sure exactly what it was for yet, but he could feel it. All he knew was that it was where all this medial energy came from. Danny realized that time wasn't just flexible here, but the closer you get to it, the less time seemed to exist.

The Story of Promiseum - Dream walker
This time he found himself in a small meadow. The grass here was pretty short, just barely over his ankle. There were flowers everywhere, barely sticking out of the grass. Mostly red and yellow patches, with some blue mixed in. A short distance away, there's a wooded area with a small creek running through it. This is just what he needed. A nice relaxing walk to clear his mind. The song of nature was all around him. He could hear the sound of the water rushing by, crickets, frogs in the distance, and the sound of birds singing overhead. All in tune with the wind playing through the leaves in the trees.

The Story of Promiseum - Dream Walker
The field seemed to stretch on forever. He looked around. There were no trees or any significant landmarks as far as he could see. The grass was primarily green and had long stalks topped with copper-colored grains. When the wind blew, there appeared to be gentle waves rolling across the land. The vast ocean of grass was knee-high and dotted with patches of flowers in every direction. He could hear birds and crickets, but no matter how close he looked, he couldn’t see them anywhere.

The Lion's Hunt: Part 3
Click Here for Part II or Click Here to Start From the Beginning. PART III The first support column carved from rock loomed large as they approached and rounded it, weapons at the ready. Luminous puddles squelched beneath their feet, but the energy of each interrupted pool dissipated behind them, dulling and congealing on the cavern floor. The disturbed fluids settled, and the cycle repeated itself in the constant rain. Commander Vyuum had assumed that theirs was the first team to arrive, but signs to the contrary began to appear as they advanced into the cavern. Scorch marks and divots sullied the cave's surfaces indicating recent weapons fire, accompanied by the unmistakable fetor of burning flesh tainting the air and forcing its way into their helmet’s filtration systems.

Hunting Wasslenorf
The monkeybirds at the window reminded Hadley he was on a foreign planet. He dutifully sent them a few of the green fruits he had saved out the slot he’d made in the screen for that specific purpose. The monkeybirds scooped the fruit up and went off to either eat it at their leisure or else feed to their young. Hadley watched as they sailed away through the white leaves until the vegetation seemingly swallowed them up. Returning to his coffee, he sat, still wondering why the expedition had left SL5 so abruptly, without informing him or asking if he were ready to leave. He had paid to hunt the wasselnorf only, not to emigrate here. The dead wasselnorf was in its case, already loaded for shipment to the museum. So why did they not take him along to deliver it?

Click
Andrea's fingers sent up a little puff of ash as she lifted the half charred picture. The edges were brown and bubbled a little. His smiling profile was barely recognizable being right at the burnt end of the photograph although his baseball cap and sweatshirt were still white. Well, that was useless. It was his smile she liked to see. Andrea sighed as her arm dropped to her side. She surveyed the huge mound of ash, charred wood, and black bricks that had been her home, still surrounded by the bright red and orange maple leaves, on and off the trees. Andrea closed her eyes and envisioned the picture of how her home had looked just that morning. A little red brick cottage covered in emerald vines, black shingles covered in green moss, a white door with a brass knocker and white curtains in the windows. Click. The picture came up perfectly in Andrea’s photographic memory. The wind rustled in the fiery leaves about the little cottage. Andrea opened her eyes and the same wind that rustled the leaves stirred up the ashes of what was left of her home.

Planet Mhâ-jhï
Death. The dark planet smelled like death. Escape from the smell of the female bodies, burning in the deep canons that covered the surface of the planet, was impossible. Thousands of slaves worked the funeral fire pits non-stop. The ash in the air slowly turned the black planet ghostly pale grey. The ash fell slowly onto the shoulders of the Mhâ-jhï man and his infant son sitting on a cliff overlooking one of the canyons. In the fire below, somewhere among the dead, burned the bodies of his wife and daughters.

The End....Chapter 3
Scooter Jekings waved back at Steve Benson as he started down the street towards his house. There was a solemn look on his face and he had an uneasy feeling, the same kind of uneasy feeling he used to get in Iraq right before the shit hit the fan. " What do you think is causing this green light Ray" Scooter asked.
