Lucien Drake was a man who lived alone with his horse. The horse's name was Bloodstorm, and it was a white horse with deep red eyes. When it ran, the air grew heavy, as if an invisible weight had descended upon everything in its path. Its body seemed woven from deep darkness, so black that time seemed to stop as you gazed at it. Its eyes did not appear to belong to a living creature; they were deep red, like a sea of molten embers. Looking into them, it seemed as though they would tear apart your entire past, every sin, every fear, every hidden secret, and lay it bare before you. When the horse ran, the earth's soul would scream, as though the boundaries of time and space had dissolved. Do not attempt to touch it; its skin is colder than ice. Bloodstorm's skin is so cold that it would burn your hand.
