Mystery
Vengeance
This sinister deed was done. When I left the house — hiding my assassin’s blade. I trotted lively down the cobbled street, for what had I to fear? I’m nothing but a shadow in the background of a city, an assassin who’s job was done. My confidence and posture told a story of a gentleman. Till’ at the bend of the street, I saw a dog sitting near the ditch, the dog was something I couldn’t quite understand. Its face was almost black, with brown peppered across its muzzle. It had pointed ears, and bright eyes, it was a rather handsome mutt.

It Came From Below
I was trying to sleep. The noises kept creaking under my bed. I pulled the covers over my face. The noises got louder. The noises turned into a loud growling. My bed started shaking. I jumped out of bed and grabbed a shovel and a flashlight. I looked under my bed and my dog jumped out. “It’s just you, Rex,” I said. I took one last look under my bed. I saw two hands reaching out of a hole. Then a horrid, monsterous face. I tried to back up, the hand grabbed me and pulled me into the dark hole.

The Bribe
I got pulled over. The officer knocked on my window. I rolled it down. “I saw what you did,” he said. “I know what you want,” I said, reaching in my pocket to hand him cash. “Have a good day, sir,” he said and left. He came to my house every week for a year demanding more money. One day I shouted “I’m sick of paying you,” and slammed him with a shovel, then buried him. Later that night, there was a knock at my door. My neighbor pointed a gun at me and said “I saw what you did.”
