They say that the monsters only come out on dark dreary nights, but the worst seemed to be found inside a cheerful brunch café, serving bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys. At least that is how Detective LeeAnn Carter found the truth to be. She had been following a lead on a known murderer for months through the worst bars and the world of the underground with no luck. Then, as fate would have it, she found him out in broad daylight at her and her friend’s favorite café. A normal person would have been caught flustered by catching the very person she had been chasing down by chance, but LeeAnn was no normal person.
