Red Panda Saves Habitat

The Story of a little red panda

By Mitchell GlassonPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Once upon a time, in the lush forests of China, there lived a red panda named Mei. Mei was a beautiful creature with vibrant red fur and a fluffy tail. She spent most of her days sleeping in the trees, but occasionally ventured down to the forest floor to forage for food.

One day, as Mei was wandering through the forest in search of berries, she stumbled upon a group of humans. They were scientists, studying the biodiversity of the forest and taking notes on the different animals they encountered.

Mei was fascinated by the humans and their strange tools, so she decided to follow them from a safe distance. She watched as they set up cameras and microphones to capture the sounds and movements of the animals in the forest.

As the days went on, Mei grew more and more curious about the humans and their work. She began to sneak closer to their campsite, hiding behind trees and bushes to observe them. And one night, when the scientists were all asleep, Mei crept into their camp and stole a notebook filled with their research.

The notebook was filled with all sorts of fascinating information about the forest and its inhabitants. Mei was amazed by how much the humans knew about the animals, and she felt proud to be a part of such a diverse and beautiful ecosystem.

But as Mei continued to read the notebook, she came across a troubling entry. The scientists had written about a plan to clear a section of the forest to make way for a new highway. This would mean destroying the homes of many animals, including Mei's own family.

Determined to stop the destruction, Mei knew she had to act fast. She carefully tore out the page with the plan and carried it back to her family's den. There, she showed the page to her mother and father, explaining the danger they were in.

At first, Mei's parents were skeptical. They had lived in the forest for many years and had never seen any humans do anything harmful. But as Mei showed them more and more evidence of the scientists' plan, they began to realize that their home was indeed in danger.

Together, Mei and her parents set out to find other animals in the forest who might be affected by the destruction. They spoke to birds, squirrels, and even a family of deer, all of whom were horrified by the scientists' plan.

As the animals began to unite, they came up with a plan to stop the destruction. They decided to stage a protest in the heart of the forest, where the humans would be sure to see them. They made signs out of leaves and branches, and gathered together in a large group, chanting and singing songs of protest.

When the scientists saw the animals gathered together, they were shocked. They had never seen anything like it before, and they realized that they had made a mistake in their plans. They quickly abandoned their plan to build the highway, and instead worked with the animals to find a way to protect the forest.

In the end, Mei and her family were proud of what they had accomplished. They had stood up for their home and their fellow creatures, and had succeeded in stopping a harmful plan. And from that day forward, Mei and the other animals in the forest knew that they could make a difference when they worked together.
