Love
Young, forbidden love.
Young, forbidden love. There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Melanin Luna Valley was a quiet and peaceful town. The town was filled with kind villagers, givers, healers, and great beauty, this all began to change when Clara and Reo became best friends. They both were eight years old when they met. Their parents came from different backgrounds but that didn’t stop them from meeting. They bumped into each other at an abandoned cabin in the woods; they both believed it was fate that they met each other. Reo is the son of a powerful king and queen, Leo and Rina. Reo has the gift of seeing people’s aura, he knows when someone is around him for impure reasons. Sad to say that his parents' souls were extremely toxic. While Clara is an orphan, Julian and Lory are her adoptive parents. They treated her like an errand girl, they fed her and bought her a few pieces of clothing when she was young, but as she got older she had to fend for herself a lot of the time. Of course, Reo helped her with almost everything she needed but he had so many obligations as a prince that he started to rarely have time for her. Keep in mind their parents didn’t know that they were close; they both were in love with each other but their love was forbidden. Reo couldn’t date until his parents were ready for him to get married; this didn’t stop Reo from spending his free time with Clara.

The Bodyguard's Temptation
Genevieve: The bright lights of the large bookstore brought tears to my eyes. It was a dull throb in the back of my head. It added together with the ache in my cheeks of smiling too much, and my wrist kinked because of moving it too much. How much longer was this going to take?

EVAN
I knew from that first date that I was going to be in trouble. What started so innocent as an informal date would eventually ruin my life as I knew it. Up until that point, I thought I had known what love was. This would show me I didn't know shit about love. Looking back, I would realize that that wasn't either, but I let it consume me and take over my heart and cancel out my brain. Any rational thoughts were squashed by the idea of prince charming with the sapphire eyes.

It Started In Summer
I can’t sleep. I haven’t slept for years. Presumably, I’ll never sleep again… not the way I want to. It doesn’t help that this mummified human beside me smelled of death, or that I was trapped forty-five thousand feet in the air, but I’ve accepted it. I have welcomed inconsequential things into the rabbit hole.

Serendipity
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. In fact, she could vividly remember a time when there were not dragons in the valley. She remembered running through the bright, colorful valley, full of wildflowers. She could still smell the flowers, the breeze blowing them through the air and taking her breath away. She could still feel the way her curly hair bounced off her neck as she ran and the heat of the sun shining on her face. She could feel herself twirling, her dress swirling around her legs, hitting flower after flower, until she fell to the ground, laughing. Through it all, he would just watch her, following slowly, to make sure she was safe. As she lay in the tall grass and wildflowers, he would slowly come into view. His luscious dirty blonde hair, followed by his light blue eyes, then his manly shoulders and the arms that wrapped around her so tightly. The look on his face, always one of sincere amusement and happiness while he watched her antics. Only someone who genuinely loves you can find pure joy in your joy. At least, she thought so, at the time. Now she had no idea what she believed. All her life she spent hoping for true love, a real honest partner. She believed with every fiber of her being that he was it. Perhaps everyone had been right when they told her love wasn’t the way she thought of it. It wasn’t sparks and romance and excitement. It was calm, predictable, and safe. What if she just wanted all those things in one person? What if she believed she had it all, only for it to fall away from her and prove everyone else right? What if the dragons coming, and taking over their valley, was a sign that the life she dreamed of was just that… a dream?

Same Line, Different Choices
Hey Mom. I never told you this before, but…I almost slept with my teacher. Listen, I know this event is perplexing and unethical. But to be fair, I was a consenting adult. At the time, I had no reason to deny this man’s affections. I was a lonely, sad, and desperate high school girl that didn’t like the selection of “men” my age, or even around my age. Before I continue, I just want to say that I’ve learned from this experience and all I’m asking right now is for your understanding.

All Perfect Things Must End
You wouldn’t have known me a year ago. Dingy brown hair and too-big hazel eyes fixated on the floor. Baggy T-shirts and jeans, fluffy cotton jacket hoods, mud-soaked sneakers and dark-rimmed glasses on a body that impresses no one. These aren’t the traits of someone you notice. Especially someone as peculiar as you.
