Secret Satan
I was having my morning cup of coffee when I heard a high-pitched whine outside. Thinking it was the neighbor’s kids playing with their new Christmas toys, I went to the window to see what they had. I’d always wanted a flying toy when I was a kid. And while I knew there was nothing stopping me from buying one now, I didn’t want to deal with anyone staring at a grown adult playing with some flashy thing meant for a child.

A Strange Mysterious Package, Indeed!
You’re a thirty-three-year-old woman named Breanne, still living in the home you grew up in. Not in a cute hallmark way. But in a way that says, ‘I went to university, and it took me six years to graduate because I couldn’t decide on a major, and now I make $50k working as a graphic designer and can’t afford to live on my own in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) or pay back my student loans.’

McCallister's Gift
McCallister’s Gift By Derrick L. The touchtone keypad at the front door chimed behind Alistair’s ears as the sound of the electronic lock disengaged. The scrape of metal on metal echoed as the door latch slid across the strike plate. The thump of polyurethane boots clunked against the linoleum floor; someone was standing in the threshold of his home.

What Is This Crap?
I hope they catch me, I really do, so I can explain my motive in a rational, informed manner. I’m not crazy, you know. To catch me in act, however, someone would have to look over my six-foot fence to see into the backyard, and who is going to do that? Not sure why I’m so paranoid about it. I stopped for three years. Why did I start again this season?

By drone alone
One day while sitting at home, I was basking in the sun from the sliding glass doors. Meditating whilst my body was splayed out, I heard a whirring sound approaching. Opening an eye, I saw that my video hadn't changed, so it wasn't a commercial playing. Then, a shadow fell over my face where instead there had been sunlight.

The Mysterious Delivery
When the package dropped onto my doorstep, I was at the very least surprised. On second thought, "surprised" is a bit of an understatement The damn drone almost dropped the stupid thing right on top of my head as I was walking out the door. I was already incredibly late for work, and getting almost decapitated by a delivery drone did not do much to brighten my mood.

On the streets of... #3
I haven't decided yet if I wanted to be an elegant or a casual detective. But I thought that my first day deserved a suit anyway, so I put on my only, old and not particularly nice brown suit. I only wore it when I had to go to court to testify in a case.
