He wants my soul
December 1994 Christmas Eve Night The Fireplace burns with warm, memorized flames kissed upon my cheeks as I sip my hot cocoa with peace. The music blast on the speaker as "Silent Night." plays loudly and soul throughout the night. I know my neighbors are getting tired of the Christmas music. I have been playing since after thanksgiving. I smile while I had my feet propped up as i sway my beautiful brown hair to the beat. My soft pink lips song the words as i kept my chocolate brown eye close as i imagine me dancing with my husband in the snow. The snow fell to the ground and the Christmas light shined bright with colors as they beamed through the night. I rub my belly as my daughter Casey bounce with joy as she gets a taste of the warm hot chocolate I'm feeding to her. Nights like this are why I love to begin a wife, and I love knowing that I will become a Mother any day now. My husband is working a little late as it should be, knowing he has to run several Hotels and Resorts, Plus he's CEO of a Law Firm, so busy for him is nothing. Ashton was well known, but he's also the walking devil, as I will say. He was rude to his clients, and now he hated me because im carrying his daughter and not a son to inherit his business.

Murky Depths
There was once was a family that lived near the shoreline. Everyday they would come out onto the beach, to pick up trash, kids picking up sea shells, the dog would run onto the beach. Everyday was like every other day when it comes to the ocean and for this family. Only if they knew what was really going on in that ocean of theirs.

Foggy Mornings
Five o'clock every morning I woke up. I set coffee to boil, I turned on the lights, and I took a look outside. Every morning a dense fog covered the ground stretching all over my farm. The fog rolled in from the river about a mile away no matter what. One morning I looked out and saw five people standing in the mist. I walked out of my home calling to them, "Hello! Good morning to you." The people turned and vanished into the fog.

the house by the lake
it was the dead of fall the leaves under my feet making a satisfying crunch when I walked the air cold and bitter I could hear the sound of the small waves in the lake crashing upon the shore it all seemed so peaceful it made me wonder why the house had such a bad name I mean yes it was a fixer-upper but I only got it for a couple thousand which is a drop in the water of what it should have been even for its age you would think it would at least be in the millions and that’s without talking about all the land surrounding it.

An Impossible Waterfall. Top Story - October 2021.
Claire was six when the end began. She was watching a cartoon in which the humanoid animals in the cast learned valuable lessons about things like sharing and obeying your parents when the cartoon cut out and the newsman came on. She didn’t understand much of what the man was saying. He said the video they were showing was of the skies over New York city. Even at six she knew things weren’t as they were supposed to be. The video showed a crackling mass of purple and green lights. The general shape reminded her of the scab she had gotten on her knee after she fell chasing Shane from down the street, except her scab hadn’t had the strange looking tendrils coming off of it. She called for her mother, more out of annoyance with the interruption than out of concern. Her mother was immediately enraptured with the videos on the screen.

Groundhog Day
Someone shook Alec awake and she opened her eyes to see a pale goth back away from her. Glancing around allowed her to put together that she was at a gathering of some sort in an unfamiliar basement. Around the dark-haired woman were a bunch of random strangers, all seemingly as groggy as herself and just as confused. “Where the hell am I?! Who are you people?!” A man cried out, leaping up from where he’d been previously slumped against the couch. Alec winced at his pitchy voice and heaved herself out of the chair she’d been sleeping in.

Haven’s Peak Anthologies: The Crimson Tide
Riley was dripping from the ocean, she had a towel wrapped around her and she was shivering. She watched as an officer walked towards her as she sat on the beachside. “Hello, I’m Officer Steele, chief of the Haven’s Peak police. I understand you’ve gone through something traumatic but is there any chance you can explain what happened?” Riley just stared past him at the body of her friend, concern plagued her face. “I know it’s hard miss, but you have three other members of your group still unaccounted for and whilst we look I need to know what has happened. We can do this in the station if you prefer…”

A Game
Quiet chatter filling a quaint cafe, people moving about behind the counter with smooth yet swift movements, making drinks, calling names. A few people get out from their seats to grab their food and drinks, some remain seated as waiters drop off whatever they had ordered, eyes not focused on what was around them, taking infrequent sips of whatever they had. Fingers clicking against keys on thin laptops, someone even drawing on an iPad in the corner of a couch.
