Dashing through the snow
“Dashing through the snow” is not as comfortable as it sounds. It was on my bucket list, so we decided to try it out. We called a local place that took people on sleigh rides, and the price was right. The ground, however, did not contain “a drifted bank.” It was white, but that’s about it.

Band of Gold
Sometimes you were just a few feet away from me. I was always there, right where you tucked me away three years ago. I remember the day, too. It was frightfully cold inside and out, snowing and icy, and you wanted to go snow tubing with the family. You looked at me, still faithfully around the ring finger on your left hand. The cold made your finger feel smaller, and you were so afraid of losing me on the snow slopes. You slid me off your finger and stashed me away in a pocket of some sort. I thought it was a purse or a coat. I heard the zipper.

In A Snowglobe
Things seem less important when I'm sitting in the hot water, watching snowflakes drift past. No word had been exchanged for just long enough for the silence to weigh heavily on us both. But, trying to pierce the shifting cloud to see what lay beyond, I felt strangely at peace.

My Snowy Valentine
February 14th, Valentine’s Day was the coldest day of the year. At least it felt that way for Rose. She imagined that Cupid was short by exactly one arrow, because the rest of the world was in love. She was tired of being single, but terrified of intimacy. The thought of going on a date made her sick to her stomach.

The Ceremony. Top Story - January 2024.
“Let the joyous festivities begin!” Wild applause rang up and down the valley as the Observants unfurled their banners and told the Supplicants where they could dance and sing. The Cleaners were right in front of both groups to make sure no damage was done to the wide expanse of nature in front of them. And at least they had a beautiful day for it.

Barfi Shodi: You've Been Snowed
"Ali, I will give you this. You must run fast. Faster than ever in your life, before the snowflakes melt. Please don't get caught..." Joyously dancing in the snowfall, Jamshed hands Ali the enclosed envelope, made out of quick paper, stuffed with a fistful of snow. Jamshed returns inside, closes the door and watches Ali pacing through snowflakes. Within minutes Ali is running so fast toward the closed door and a crowd of young boys chasing him. Jamsheed rushes to open the gate and closes the door on the face of the panting young faces.

Ready for Winter to End
Snow and ice as far as the eye can see, patches of street indiscernible from road or yard. A thin glaze of ice, snow packed firm, conditions in which no one should venture forth. Fluffy drifts of snow danced upon the wicked wind. Severe gusts that cut like knives straight to the bone. Frost-nipped fingers and bitten toes. Noses and cheeks red from winter’s burn. Pale gray clouds blot out the sun—dull, achy fingers, joints, and feet inside, where heaters and furnaces struggle to keep pace.
