Sun-baked Newt
Marayva strolled along the edge of the swamp with her back straight and her head held high. She knew that they would be watching through the crows, skunks, and other creatures that favored the night bond. In truth, she found that she drew a lot of pleasure from them watching her defiance. A thrill ran up her spine as she crested the last hill and saw where the three unlikely pieces of nature met.

Polaris
There was a rumour that Aden Livingston had crawled his way back from the next life after making a deal with a Dark Witch. The deal, so the story goes, that he would be brought back under one condition, the Witch would take his soul as payment. As a result, Aden’s eyes became red, warning everyone that he came in contact with that he was a demon, or at the very least, pretty damn close.

The Study of Dragons
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. In the last century it was rare for them to even come down from the Blue Mountains. Today was a special day, and Elias had no intention of wasting it. Rumors had spread to the small village of Silla, located only miles away from the Valley, when the two creatures had appeared. The villagers became worried, whispers of leaving their homes behind and moving closer to the royal city have been ever present. Elias had no fear of the new neighboring creatures. He had spent years researching the great beasts of legend through ancient tomes and fossils, but never had the opportunity to study them live and up close until today. He could be the first person in history to document dragons in the flesh rather than rely on old stories and folklore.

Remnant Of Flame
"There weren't always dragons in the Valley." The old man said, carefully placing his now empty mug on the counter before him. He blinked at the watching tavern keeper with wet red rimmed eyes and shook his head. "Once, when I was but a lad and the old king still lived, the valley was home to the Aelfin. And, if you traveled there, they'd grant your fondest wish."

Valley Security
There weren't always dragons in the valley. But those of us in charge of valley security at the CSS knew the exact date the first dragon report came in. Before that date, the political landscape of the Cauzmic Kingdoms was a disaster. Each village was at war with all the villages near it and each kingdom had enemies everywhere.

Duskwood: My AI Pt 1
Hello friends! This is the first time I’ll be writing a full-length story instead of a smaller research piece! If you haven’t heard of me, my name is Jess, and I go by AGoreJessStone online. I’ve been a research journalist for the past five years, with a focus on games and entertainment. Now, if you haven’t read anything I’ve published before, don’t worry! You don’t need any of that to partake in the adventure I am taking you on this time!

The Dragon Thief
There weren't always dragons in the valley. At least, that was the rumour. Old yarns spun by the eldest in the village as they sucked on their pipes. Some called them lucky. But more still were bitter. Complaining, as folk of their vintage were wont to do.
