Girl With The Dragoon Tattoo
"She who fights too long against dragons, becomes a dragon herself." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche (paraphrased) There weren't always dragons in the Valley of Ataúd, but Nyx was the third person on Draco Primus to find an artifact originating from the ancient Dräägz civilization. The first two had been the twin brothers, Ereboz & Eroz. Both of them became human-dragon hybrids known as Dragoons. Egregiously, either one had raised an army of Dräägz and launched attacks against settlements situated in the valley's outer rim.

Song of the Universe
"There weren't always dragons in the valley," I mumble to myself as I run for cover again for the third time today. I land face first in what I thought was mud turns out it was dragon poop. I stand up and try to clean my face, and overhead a dark shadow appears. It grows larger. I bend down to pick up my sword and feel a breeze that knocks me down. I stand, gain my balance, and feel the strong urge to find water to bathe.

Vigour Mortis
There weren’t always dragons in the valley. When they arrived it was in droves. They each converged on the valley from their own covetous corners of the world, inescapably compelled to make the journey by latent instinct. Once all had gathered, their restraint finally broke, proving once more why dragons are the worst kept company. Shortly thereafter followed a time known as The Rain of Blood.

The Custodians
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. But actions have consequences, and even little actions have a way of escalating. Now, dragons soared in the skies, tunnelled into the hillsides, and snaked swiftly through the lake – iridescent, elegant masters of their chosen element or terrain. They were beautiful, terrifying creatures, and Sigrid both regretted and rejoiced in her part she had played.

Age of Dragons
~ Chapter 1 ~ There weren't always dragons in the valley. But if you linger around barstools late into the night, you'll hear fragments of stories slip out from the old men. Join the circle of any of the cooking fires and ask one of the elders to spin tales of what life was like before the shift, and little by little, the truth of the old world is revealed. Cece was fascinated by it, and couldn't imagine a time when immediate tasks of survival didn't rule the day. They spoke of massive tin structures bigger than the dragons themselves, that flew to faraway places. That the people wore brightly coloured clothing and fancy shoes on their feet, and colours that women (and some men) put on their faces to get attention. They spoke of little black boxes that each person carried with them to communicate with others. It felt like something from another world entirely. How could it all have disappeared without a trace? Wouldn't there be some proof of it? Cece was determined to find the answers to these questions, even if it meant leaving the valley to do so.
