The Madura Prophesy: Chapter One
“There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Not too long ago, during the Midline era, humans and dragons remained separated by two worlds. Long before that, during the Old World, the two tribes roamed the same earth. The Spirit world, where the dragons tread, and the Physical world, were one. Both lived in harmony, until the humans’ hearts became corrupted by desire and lust; they wanted to have the Spirit world all to themselves. This desire grew, and unchecked, became untamed. A great war broke out, and many lives were lost. The great prophet, Ali Madura, sealed the Spirit world from the physical so there would be no more bloodshed. The Council of Kesper maintains the energetic barrier between both worlds… up until recent circumstances. The ruler of the Physical world is Queen Shahara. The ruler of the Spirit world is Lord Wei. You must know all this, child. For one day, you too will be the Queen’s right hand.”

The Burned World
There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. But something had changed. It happened after nameless centuries filled with windswept summer nights of silent beauty, after decades of Marsh Kings floating still in their crystal green swamps, their nights sleepless and their days filled with the flashy bell chimes of thin metal fish.

Immortuos
“There weren’t always dragons in the Valley. Indeed, Prevara’s Western Valley’s of The Outlands and The Ravaged Expanse were once free of draconic legend and terror,” Elder Caelynn wrote. As she writes this, surrounded by centuries of fragmented history collected within the ancient halls of the Atheneum, it’s difficult for Elder Caelynn to imagine a time where names like Aravax the Calamitous or Vasilya the Maleficent and her Children of Ruin were not ubiquitous in almost every household. There was once such a time, however, now almost lost and forgotten to a seemingly endless cyclical turmoil. Almost. “Centuries of archeological discovery indicate that the absence of menacing creatures in Prevara’s history applies to numerous other species besides dragons”, Elder Caelynn continues. “Even the Kammena Ladova Mountain Range, infamous for its populations of Deathbound, Ice Specters, and Shadow Tempests, was once only known to tame and natural creatures.”

Something is Wrong
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. The murders seemed to begin soon after the dragons appeared. They’d begun quietly, secretly, and at first no one had known they were murders, much less that there was a connection to the very dramatic return of the dragons. No one had known...except Rakayla. She’d felt it deep in her sixteen year old bones. Every moment of a childhood spent in the forests of the Valley had told her that something was wrong. But no one believed her. Not when the drunken vagrant disappeared. Not when one of the hunters had died falling off a cliff while exploring a new game trail. Not when the old woman who’d lived in a hut at the furthest edge of the village had been found dead in her bed. And not when the head Warden had been discovered killed by a wild boar.

The Dragon Riders
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. The valley was a peaceful place, green grass grew along the bank of the river that split the land into two sides. Wild flowers grew sporadically in the area, filling the air with their sweet perfume. A small village sat nestled along the left side of the river.

Curse of the Woven Chord
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Before the Whale Fall, we had fish farms and rice paddies where families worked for generations. There was even a hydro-generator at the base of the cliff to power the city up on the plateau. You can still see it if you peer over the edge.
