Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. In the eons aboard the torch, the passengers had never tested out the adage. Therefore, when Wun awoke inside their pod, and stepped naked into the hall, it was the prelude to a momentous occasion.

CHAPTER 1 - WELCOME HOME Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. My inner monologue is interrupted by a modulated voice that echoes through the spaceship’s cargo hold to where I stare through a magnetic seal to the planet below. “Approaching departure zone. Ready to jump in t-minus twenty minutes. Satellite data incomplete. Weather uncertain below mesosphere. Best estimate of surface wind speed is zero to thirty kilometers per hour.”

Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Although, people have been limited by the knowledge available to them since the beginning of time. There have been many so called "truths" that have later been disproven with the advancements of scientific discoveries. With our ship's technology one could, theoretically, scream and be heard in space. However, the test subjects for such an experiment are non-existent, so probability aside we still may never know if one's screams could be heard in the vacuum of space.

But when you jumped off the airlock and your tiny, six-year-old body drifted into speckled darkness, you couldn’t help it.

Artemisia
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. But there are some things even space cannot contain, given enough velocity, mass…hunger. The strange ball of fire hurtled angrily on its final trajectory towards Earth. By the time it reached the atmosphere, it was positively roaring.

Center Of The Crosshairs
"Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say," he said. I liked his humor. It was dry, and it made me laugh. Mr. Adams, the science teacher, brought out the rolling cart with the microscale vacuum apparatus on it to demonstrate the vulnerability of a marshmallow.
